Spirit Airlines has been a Wall Street Darling now for many years. A quick review of the number of seats in an Airbus 320 (one of the most popular airframes in the world) shows you business strategy. Spirit packs the plane with only two short of maximum permitted by law. Record numbers of complains. Unhappy customers, but there are always people looking to fly for as cheaply as possible.
Virgin America is like Interjet in Mexico. Give that extra inch or two to all the economy passengers. Treat everyone with this minimal level of comfort. I hope they make it so that people have a reasonable alternative.

I'm in the business and I don't well them much so voted bigot :-)
But then I never sell Virgin Atlantic either. Tons of competition over the Atlantic.
I do sell some Virgin Australia. Not a lot of competition in Australia and Quantas tends to be pricy so I sell some Virgin Australia.
From my view just according to what I sell tickets on.
Virgin Atlantic - sell
Virgin America - wait
Virgin Australia - buy
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.
