I wont say the exact name of the game for a few different reasons.
This is how it basically works and what happened.
The machine is a progressive slot with a few temperature rising type of progressives and bonuses. The thermometer rises as you hit particular symbols coin in adds money to the progessive once the thermometer reaches the top you get the progressive, It's no easy task so both the thermometer and progressive bust be high in regards to the machine.
A machine was found at a good number only a few notches away from the top progressive (you could still lose hundreds). Progressive was at about $600.
Play began, after being down about $400 on the machine we added a few notches to the thermometer as well as some money to the progressives. So now it was very close to hitting the progressive. Then all of a sudden the machine just freezes up and malfunctions. At this point the value was very good and obviously close to hitting.
Techs were called they tried soft resetting the machine but that didn't work. The had to do a hard boot on the machine. This reset everything including the thermometer and progressive. They add the main progressive back however they can't put back the thermometer. The casino wont budge and offer any compensation on that aspect. An claiming malfunctions void all plays and pays you might lose thousands going for it. This is ludicrous since its fairly predictable. So an offer was made to the casino: We would play the machine and advance it the number of times that was left/needed to receive the jackpot. They said no to that (of course). Gaming was called, but they really seemed to agree with the casino however, they didn't make a decision yet.
The malfunction claim they are making really can't apply to this situation. The spins are not being disputed. As far as im concerned, it would be the same thing as the casino just changing it to a (possibly illegal) hit frequency with the worst possible odds on a bonus progressive without notice.
While a gaming field person may know more about the rules than the casino floor personnel, the people back at the office know even more. Personally, I'd be somewhat satisfied with the fact that there hasn't been a decision yet.Quote: AxelWolfGaming was called, but they really seemed to agree with the casino however, they didn't make a decision yet.
Now if that decision is not in your favor, then there's reason to be upset.
Until then, all you can do is wait.
Quote: AxelWolfIts a tricky situation at best. I know they should make good but its hard to convince or explain to them them why.

Upon quick read, it seems like if they were smart, they've offer you some sort of comp for most of the value, at least to where you were happy. It seems like a legitimate malfunction, and it would be hard for them to refund you money played or even the jackpot itself. Barring no attempt to make things right, I wouldn't play there anymore...
