Obviously poker is the most popular, but is it the best choice? But poker has become so much more competitive knowadays that only the most talented can succeed. What other casino games are there where your EV can be determined by not only how good you are, but also by how well (bad) your opponents play.

Sports betting falls partially under this definition. Although all bets are placed against the house, the opinion/bets of others do influence the line and thus the odds/ability to win yourself.

pari-mutuel betting, like on sports or horses involves the skill of others. Some table games, like Pai Gow Poker allow the player to bank and the relative skill of other players would then directly impact results. Some VP games offer accumulating rewards and people leave at terrible times (like when a vacant Ultimate X VP machine has a screen full of 7x multipliers). Even must-hit-by slots might fit this description, though your "skill" would simply be knowing that a machine that has a meter at $499 and must hit by $500 is a good machine to play.

If your a very discipline person, poker is a good way to go. there are plenty of promotions to take advantage of. Friday and Saturday nights( 11pm )start your sober day out when all the tourists are drunk. Still tons of fish. I think Binon's is still offering an extra 7.50 plus 2 bucks an hr in comps based on 100 hrs for a month that's less then 4 hrs a day. Play low as 2-4 limit

Poker unlike other games, such as a Must Hit By slot, you can walk away when you feel like it. With proper game selection you can improve your odds of winning.

VP and slots is getting harder.

Some good suggestions.

My take;

Sports Betting; I confess I've never done any sports betting so perhaps I'm way off, but I'd GUESS it must be difficult to beat the commission. I imagine the spreads used are determined based on the analysis of some experts and not some "average" of everyone's opinion.

Poker: I imagined most dedicated/motivated players could memorize all the correct starting hands and then (through lots of practise) compare the "pot contribution" with "odds of winning" through memory (no need for math!). Along with an added strategy for attempting to increase the pot size when the odds are in your favor, perhaps this is enough if the rake isn't too high to make money.

I assume "reading people" is a skill very few individuals have though.

The same could probably be said for any "community card game"; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Community_card_poker

Ultimate X: Never thought off looking for a game that still has "multipliers" on it. Be interesting to know how often this happens and whether its even worth looking for??

.....................

If I were to make my own contribution, I might suggest "Tournament Blackjack". In this case there's no casino edge (a playing fee though) and those players who alter the "Basic strategy" rules correctly based on the True count, will have an edge against those who just follow Basic Strategy! I've never tried this, but be interested to know how successful a card-counter would be against another player circumstance.

There are probably quite a few in California (which allow the players to take the bank) and vaguely remember playing "Californian Blackjack" which had one deck with four extra Aces.

In normal casinos the types of games would also be where you can take the bank and profit from bad play from the others. Pai Gow, Pai Gow tiles are obvious examples but also I remember banking at Super Pan 9 against people who didn't know the game.

At some games where you have to fold or raise, technically you can gain information from what others do, but strangely you are better off if the others are better at playing (rather than, say, playing blind or any old rubbish)!

I would dare say nigh-impossible as an actual pro play.
