Longhorn? Would she have been any safer if she had headed to the Bellagio and happened to run into that woman who likes razors?
Would she have been any safer if she had headed for a casino, and had some words with a Florida football coach who was just recently sentenced to 3 months?

Friend apparently came prepared with a duffle bag and hit her a few times but there were no defensive wounds or indications she scratched her attacker, so it was a sudden attack by a known acquaintance who disposed of her in a dumpster.

Legal hypothetical:

The decedent's statement is hearsay. Should the statement be admissible in court as a present sense impression (i.e., to show the declarant's intent at that time to go to the Longhorn), as well as to show she actually went to the Longhorn to meet her friend there? C.f. Mutual Life Ins. Co of N.Y. v. Hillmon, 145 U.S. 285 (1894); United States v. Pheaster, 544 F.2d 353 (1976).

Does anybody really care? (The bar examiners do.)
