I couldn't make this up if I wanted to:

I checked into the LVH earlier today. I'm in Vegas on business and decided to stay here for old times' sake -- I used to stay at the LV Hilton all the time for trade shows at the LVCC, including WGCE back in the day. Anyway, the first room they put me in is one door down from the main elevator bank, and every 90 seconds or so there's a tremendous whooshing sound. I thought it was the monorail at first but then realized that's on the other side of the hotel so it must be the elevators. Thinking there's no chance I sleep through that all night long, I call down and ask for a room change.

I hear the fellow at the front desk typing for a moment and then he says "okay, I'll give you a complimentary upgrade. You'll be on the same floor. Would you like to come down and get your new keys or should I send them up? It'll be about 15 minutes if I send them up." I tell him no, I'll be right down.

After I get my keys, I head up to my old room and pack up. I leave, turn past the noisy elevators, and head down the hallway. I'm looking at the numbers on the rooms as I roll my suitcase past, slowing as I get to my new room, which is ...

... right across from another bank of elevators.

I suppose the alcove used by hotel maids to store those little soap packets is all the way down the corridor far from the elevators.

Some hotels are designed with noise in mind. The housekeeping, vending area is near the noisy elevator lobby area. Rooms start a good bit away from noise generating areas. Ice and soda machines get foot traffic at unusual times, so many hotels put them behind a door marked Vending as this keeps the noise down a bit. In other hotels, you seem to have dullards who just deal with the complaints over and over again and keep putting guests into noisy rooms.

Sorry, this is just a boring business trip. No chicks and guns and fire trucks and hookers and drugs and booze. Okay, maybe a little booze.

But a "hotel room stories" thread could be a good idea if you want to start it.

Years ago, I met my younger brother in Vegas and we got a good deal at the Lady Luck so we stayed there. (We were definitely on the frugal side of the spectrum back then, but wanted to experience the Old Vegas). Then we twisted our other brother's arm to come out from California and meet us, and he booked a room at the Lady Luck as well.

Except his room was in this super-dumpy 2 story motel that was apparently part of the Lady Luck, AND also right on one of the bus routes to the Downtown Transportation Center at the time. So every 15 minutes or so a bus would rumble right by his room at all hours of the night. Unfortunately, it probably wasn't any worse than my younger brother's snoring.
There's emptiness behind their eyes There's dust in all their hearts They just want to steal us all and take us all apart

Heh, I lost interest a month ago. But I won't be staying at the LVH again unless it's in one of those luxury suites, and there's roughly zero chance of that.

Interestingly enough, I've stayed at two Hiltons since and both were great. Aaaand I just realized I'm traveling way too much...

Korean massage?

As if I know. I have never had a professional massage or "professional" massage. TBH the Asian massage places seem seedy. Im not paying for something my GF should be doing for free (meaning a massage, well.....and other things)

I did date a Irish girl who was going to school to became a Massage therapist. She practiced on me for tests. As far as i know, she never had a watch get lost in her vagina. Perhaps she was not doing it right. Concerning that watch story......as they say, fact is stranger then fiction.

Koreans are not my cup of tea. I have found Korean chicks to be very loud, bossy, superstitious and they cuss a lot. I had a Asian phase for a brief period of time and dated a few Filipino girls who are just the opposite of Korean girls.

Late, but for those unaware, Filipino girls aren't Asian. And with the Korean and Japanese you are almost expected to slap them around so naturally the harder core they are the more they have been slapped around.

Asia is very large and diverse and include many cultures. Do Siberians, Indians, and Pakistanis meet your test for Asian?
I am just having a little fun with the evolution of the term Asian. It has recently be offered and the politically correct term to refer to people we used to call oriental. But if we accept that term, there are well over 1 billion people living in Asia that now can't be called Asian. We don't seem to have an acceptable term for the group that you call "self respecting Asians". Ironically the term oriental does not seem to have negative connotations over here (I happen to be in Asia at the moment). I see used proudly in the names of restaurants and shops.

Well from everything I can find on the subject they are in fact Asian. Even when they interview Filipinos they conciser themselves Asian or both. I found this However I have no clue if this information is accurate. It sounds legit to me.

The basic Filipino belongs to Malay stock and have brown skin color compared to typical yellow race Asian (Chinese, Japanese and Koreans). Malays were descended from peoples of SOUTH ASIA-Indian sub-continent, not South China. DNA studies showed that many of the inhabitants of the Philippines were related to Ethnic Malays. Filipino languages (Ilocano, Pampango, Tagalog, Cebuano, Bikol) are part of the Austronesian group, which originates in Asia. The Philippines was isolated from the rest of Asian culture because of more than 300 years of Spanish colonialism and about 50 years American imperialism. Our mixed heritage makes us unique among our Asian neighbors.

Asia is the biggest continent on this planet earth. It encompasses countries in the Middle East Korea peninsula, Borneo, Fiji Islands and some parts of the old Soviet Russian empire. The Philippine villages or barangays looks like the Indonesian countryside or any other place in Southeast Asia with it's rice fields, rice terraces, water buffaloes, fish ponds, native houses and native boats. The Filipinos basic diet like rice, fish and soup, is the common all over Southeast Asia. Filipinos not only look Malay, but the also have many cultural Malay traits.

On other hand, we are Pacific Islanders in the sense that some Filipino cultures are clos%r to Pacific Islanders than Asians, and at least one Pacific Island culture - the Chamorros. It seem
to have a recent Philippine origin. There is also one theory that many other Pacific Islander cultures may have originated, at least partly, from the Philippine archipelago.

Pacific islanders are divided into three groupings:

1.Malayo-Polynesians like Filipinos, Indonesian, Malays, Chamorros.
2. Polynesians
3. Micronesians

Filipinos can be both Asian and pacific islanders. It’s difficult to simplify different asian races, cultures and heritage. i’m sure we are all Homo sapiens or modern human beings. The United States of America the only super power nation on earth recognized as FILIPINOS, the native inhabitants of the Philippines.

I have a funny hotel room story ... staying at the Gold Coast after 3 nights at the Orleans. my last day, I'm checking out in like 5 hours and I've been playing low limit BJ all morning (aprox $15 a hand for 3 hours). I ask the pit boss for a $15 food comp to subway and she responds with "your play doesn't warrant that, but keep playing or charge it to your room and ask the manager if they can cover it'. now I'm a moderate to big bettor normally, but this trip has sucked the life blood out of me. I have never and I mean never paid for a room or food in a casino ever (very debatable if that's a good thing or not) so I'm taken aback by her statement.

now I have to backtrack to the Orleans 3 days earlier where I had a $100 dinning credit and I still had $20 left to spend, so I ordered 2 steak and cheese subs and left to the Gold Coast. upon reaching the Coast my room wasn't ready so I checked my bag and subs in at the bell desk and wondered over to the Rio. I didnt return for almost 24 hours on a poker. sports betting binge (it was NCAA tourney time). so I get back and check into my room with my bags and sandwiches, but I take a whiff of the sandwich and decide against eating it. can you see where this is going? back to check out day at the Gold Coast.

so I wander back up to my room, with my newly purchased sandwich (that I had to pay for) and start packing my bags. I realize that my subs from the Orleans are still in my room (3 days later) and now they are getting a little ripe. so I do the only thing I think will bring me any satisfaction, stuff the a sandwich under the A/C box machine. it would be impossible for a maid to see on her daily routine as I had to really wrench up the casing to get it up in there. anyway I hope the GC thinks twice before denying me a comp.

Like that story, sticking it to GC!!

Reminds me of a story my friend from HS told me (I'm gonna assume it's true). Traditionally, seniors in high school will pull a prank near the end of the year before they graduate. Well, this kid thought it'd be good to prank the computer teacher since the teacher was kindavan asshole. As the story goes, he pooped in a Gatorade bottle somewhere during the school year, capped it, and buried it in his backyard. Once we get to end-of-the-year time, he digs up the bottle and brings it to school, on the last day of school. He opened up one of the computer towers, popped that fermented bad boy in there, and shut the lid on the tower.

Perhaps I can be of assistance. Clearly, Philippino women are not Asian. As any man of the world knows, Asian crack is horizontal. I can testify that Philippine crack runs vertical. An easy test can be used for proof. When you go down on it, If it makes that funny noise like when you run your finger between your lips while blowing. You're eating a gooner.

I got a plan, we take all your picks we reverse them like one of those twilight zone episodes where everything is the opposite. You say "black" we go white.

Sabretom,

I'm going to hope this is sarcasm. There is no world in which it's PG. Take a break. 3 days.

Actually, Filipinos are of varied ethnic extraction, including Malay, Chinese, Spanish, etc. The Philippines is in Southeast Asia and is a member of the association of South east Asian Nations. Most Filipinos do consider themselves Asians although they do reside on an island (or group of islands) in the Pacific. Hope that clears some misconceptions up. Now whether Filipino girls are all sweet and nice... they're all human and are therefore subject to all human traits, good or bad.
