I have always enjoyed Ellis Island. August 2010 I ate there 4 times in 4 days and enjoyed the karoke. Great pizza(2 for 1 on thursday) I had the ribs and chicken that was a huge portion. They have the best home brewed wheat beer anywhere. Great steak special that includes a free beer.

Ellis Island is definitely worth the short drive from the Strip. We usually go a little early to avoid a long wait, but since we are still somewhat
on mid-west time for our first couple of days, that works out pretty well. The sirloin steak is always excellent.

The best attraction for me is their micro brewed in house beer.

The steak special now $7.99, but still includes a beer.

The bar b q is excellent and reasonably priced.

Metro Pizza is great for a snack. Best pizza around they say.

It's cheap, but I don't like the fake popcorn butter flavor (diacetyl).

I would have agreed when this was written in 2011, I've eaten there many times I haven't been to the cafe in about a year and a half, I was there Tuesday, the food was mostly terrible, the fish from the fish and chips was ok but the chips were not good, the rest of the food was really bad. I sent a friend there last Friday, hadn't had a chance to talk to him before I went, I called him to apologize, he said their meal was "horrible." I still like Ellis Island, every single dealer we had were great, just would skip the cafe.

Is it true that you have to sign up for their player's card and play some slots in order to get the steak dinner deal? Does that go for the breakfast deal as well? I haven't been to Ellis Island before but I was going to try it once I get to Las Vegas in March.

You can still can get the steak dinner without a card, but it will cost you $2 more now I think (10.99 vs. 8.99). I'm not sure if there is a point requirement for the discount (I don't think so), but you have to swipe your card at a kiosk, which would trigger a gaming day.

I was there a few weeks ago; a card swipe gets you a voucher that discounts the meal to ... 9.99(?); 1$ coin in gets you a voucher for 1$ off food.

That deal is also available at the Village Pub bars that Ellis owns.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
