There must not be many 7 Stars grinders in Atlantic City, because anyone could have taken advantage of the weekly 10X comp days (and even some 15X and 20X days) for the past 5 months, played 20 sessions at $0.25 or $1 denominations (full pay Jacks or Better, Bonus Poker progressive machines) to earn their 2,500 tier points each day.

Tier points are not comp points in the Total Rewards system. I don't know of any casino that multiplies your "tier points" with the exception of the bonuses of extra tier points that Total Rewards has for reaching certain tier point levels in a 24 hour period, such as the 5,000 extra tier points if you reach 2,500 tier points through regular play.

So those multiplier days for comps would cetainly help you get more comps, but that would not raise your tier score.

(Posted this before I saw the other correct respnses.)

By the way, using the 2,500 tier points per day to get the 5,000 bonus each day I was able to make "7 Stars" early in the year by just playing $2 Aces and Faces (similar to 8/5 Bonus poker).

teddys, are you still getting a full plate of VIP premium gift giveaways and invitation only events? I was at Louisville Saturday night and found out an invitation only suitcase selection drawing event was going on where there where something like 80 suitcases to select from. I don't know the exact details just what another seven star player I was sitting with a blackjack table was telling me who was invited. My host was not able to tell me what the criteria was for being invited to that event. I also know of other events I was getting invited to as a Diamond player but stopped when I was upgraded to seven stars. I also know I have not been invited to some of the multiplier days. Could I have been cut back be due to taking so many offers from both Cincinnati and Louisville but not always playing on offer or invitation days?

I try to stay disciplined and only play on days where I can commit to 2500 tier credits, yet I also like to get in on all of the promotions I can.

Anyone know if there will be any changes to the seven stars program for next year or tier credit bonuses?

In my modestly informed but lengthy TR (never made 7S, but 1D and a dozen plat) history, I have found that the longer I stay away, the better the offers get. So I'm thinking that they "know" they have you, and they're making better offers (at least more interesting to you) to players they're trying to entice to move up the ladder or show up more often. The value of your 7S comps is maybe also enough in itself for your play. My host has been able to get me on any list that interests me for stuff like that; tournaments, special events, whatever. Unless they've been severely restricted (which some of you are reporting) in the past couple of years, I think your host can do kind of an interest profile on you "would like to be invited to weekend events; would play in roulette tournaments; etc" JMHO: YMMV.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

SuperMax, I am basically no-mailed at Cleveland and Cincinnati now. I get NOTHING from HS Cleveland, and my freeplay at Cincy has been reduced to $10 every couple days (Used to be a couple hundred, then $40). Also, no more free rooms in Cincy. Yes, it comes from taking advantage of too many offers and giving far too little play. I hope to repair my ADT on my trip to San Diego when I visit Rincon on Caesars' dime.

This seems to be what is happening to me at Hollywood St. Louis this year. If I skip a monthly cycle there, my offers tend to be better.

Much like the Flintstones meet the Jetsons, sounds like a perfect opportunity to have a WOV-Alan's Best Buys crossover meetup.

Any current players here still trying to get tier credit bonuses after a lot of the VP pay table downgrades? I am now banning the new machines at HorseShoe Southern Indiana and Cincinnati. 7/5 Job is not worth it. I was a platinum level black jack player until last year I made seven stars by maxing out the tier credit bonus over several weekends. I don't see a way to continue without being really stupid about it. If your still playing for tier credit bonuses at either of these casinos, which games/machines?

If you can get up to Cleveland they still have $1 9/6 JoB with a progressive royal flush and full tier credits.

I haven't been back to Vegas for about 4\5 years now so quite blurry with what was offered to me in comps previously.

However I am probably returning at least twice a year from now on staying at least a week each time.

Previously I get comped by international relations gaming and they would give 0.X% rebate on turnover, free rooms, free dining at top restaurants etc and free show tickets (Last time managed to get tier 2 tickets x 9 to La Reve at the Wynn)

However this time I would like to weigh the options between being an "international player" or trying to attain the 7-star card. Another bonus for me is if I were 7-star I get points for the new partnership between SPG (Starwood) + Harrahs Total Rewards (Diamond and 7-star).

1.) Benefits (I will be calling the intl host in a couple of days)
2.) Attainment of 7-star card

Quick question is how long or play/turnover would I need to get a 7-star card? This is assuming I gamble on baccarat/blackjack (mainly) and an assortment of other table games (with huge house edges lol). To estimate on the lower end I wager approximately $300 a hand (between $100-$2000 wagers). How many hands I play depends if the table is empty or packed of course. I am comfortable gambling up to 15 hours in a day but prefer to keep it flexible. Thanks for any help!

PS: I will edit/post again once I get an update from the host on the benefits of flying in and playing on a program and hope to find some help on weighing the benefits! This will definitely include factors like how often I visit the states etc to make the most out of the benefits of each program.

I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong thread!

Alan, do you know if this would still be a viable play at Rincon. Last time i was there a few months ago the full pay aces and faces machines were nearly nonexistent at the lower level? Would this play work with the bonus poker games that are available there? I hope to be able to use this method to acheive diamond in the first week of 2016. thanks for any input you can provide.

hm.. one of the benefits of 7star is converting your Rewards Credit (rc) into slot freeplay at a rate of $1 for 125rc.
(Diamonds have a conversion rate of $1 for 175 tc.)

i didn't put any value into this since i thought i wouldn't have that much RC.

well, 6 months after becoming Diamond, i have 20000 rc! (aka $200 worth of food credits, which i don't expect to use much.)

Diamond: 20k / 175 = $114 freeplay
7Stars: 20k/125 = $160 freeplay

so $46 more.

i have about 35k Tier Credits.
150k tc needed for 7Stars, so 115k more.

115k tc also means 115k more RC.

115k + 20k = 135k rc = conversion to $1080 in freeplay if i make 7Stars.
$1080 x 99.5% (9/6 JoB) = $1075 expected value

lets do the math. I'll use 9/6 JoB with $25 coin-in = 1 TC.

5k TC in a day gets you 10k bonus TC = 15k TC total.
115k / 15k = 7.67 days

7.67 x 5k = 38350 TC i need to earn on the 9/6 JoB to make 7Stars.
38350 x $25 = $958,750 coin-in?!?!?! Holy.. almost $1M coin-in?!

958,750 x .5% house edge = $4794 gross expected loss.
$4794 - $1075= $3719 net expected loss in going for 7Stars, based on my current 35k tc level.

Nope, not worth it for me.
Especially with the uncertainty of the entire Total Rewards program since Caesar's is in bankruptcy.

But there are a ton of perks with 7 stars. If you are able to use all of them it would be worth it. Unlike someone we know. Cough cough ts ;-)

If you travel a lot 7 stars is worth the cost because harrahs is pretty much everywhere. Free rooms most of the time is a nice perk. There is also a $500 dinner which is nice, as well as a travel voucher to any cet property, but even with a cost of playing 9/6 jacks and taking advantage of their bonus tiers its still not worth going out of your way to get it.

Im assuming a 10k bonus on playing $50k coin in in video poker which earns you 15k points. Do this ten days and youlll get 7 star, but this requires $500k coin in. This is about $2500 in expected loss. Realistically youd have to grind out $5 denom or equivalent in multi-hand vp for 2000 hands a day. This is 20k hands which will most likely put in the "no royals" club which would cost you an extra 2% which would be about $10k, assuming you hit straight flushes and other low hands within expectation.

If you just take into account $2500 in ev loss its worth it. Youll probably make the loss back on freeplay offers. If you take the realistic likelihood if no royals now it cost you $12.5k. If so youll make a portion of your loss back in freeplay.

This is also taking into account you have the sufficient bankroll.

The first three months of the year TR was increasing all points gained (including the 10k bonus) by 50%. So a session where you played for 5k+10k(Bonus) would actually be credited for 22.5k by April 15th or so (cutoff was March 31). Essentially, 6-7 trips during that three month period would have earned you seven stars for a pittance... but I can't handle the variance from never hitting a royal on $5 VP.

I earned an extremely easy diamond from that. If the current path to 7stars is too much, just walk away until/if they have something similar.

at my local CET property, it's $25 coin-in for 1TC at 9/6 JoB. :(
and is their best game.

didn't think about the 2% penalty for not making a Royal. YIKE!!
now DEFINITELY not worth it.

I'm close to Diamond Aspirations Lvl 1 (40k TC) and am confident i'll make that by end of year w/o doing anything extra.
don't think I'm going to try for Aspirations Lvl2 and the free airfare (up to $750.)
flights out of my city to Vegas is only ~$300 round trip.

that offer was capped at 25k extra TC.
so if you make 50k TC, you max out the extra TC.

50k + 25k = 75k.
you're only half way to 7Stars.

my goal was only Diamond.
the 7Star benefits didn't seem worth it to me.
And doing the math today, I KNOW it's not worth it to me.
