| Yoyomama Member since: Oct 11, 2010 Threads: 15 Posts: 111 | Gunman gets away with $1.5 in chips from craps table: http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/dec/14/police-robbery-bellagio/ How can he cash them? Go in 6 months from now with a couple thousand, play and then cash out? Then do this every day for the next 750 day? |

How much trouble would he have redeeming $100 & $500 chips instead of $25,000 chips? "Oh Gravity, thou art a heartless bitch!" - Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper |

Probably wasn't a smart criminal and clearly doesn't read this site. Or even watch crime movies. Criminals think of the "crime of the century" by stealing the world's biggest diamond which was on display at Mandalay Bay. Then after they pull off the heist they realize they need to do more than drive down to "Gold and Silver Pawn" to turn it into cash. What is worth more--a $25K plaque you cannot cash in or 10 "blacks" that you can? The former is useful only as a mug coaster. "The Roman Empire wasn't planned, but neither did it 'just happen.'" |

NOT ME!! Last thing I want to do is get locked up with a bunch of losers! We had a guy this summer at a casino in Niagara Falls Canada (I live in NY) run off with about $10,000 in chips. He tried to cash in the next day at the other casino in Niagara Falls Canada! Needless to say, he is now locked up with other losers. |

Yoyo, how did he get caught? Did he try to cash the whole lot at once? Were the chips manufactured with RFID tags? |

The same thing happened at Mohegan Sun in Ct. The State Police were waiting for the guy at his house. He was seen on a couple of dozen cameras, license plate and all. |

There wasn't much detail. The casinos keep it pretty quiet and don't care for any bad publicity. He was playing BJ, and grabbed a bunch of black chips and ran. Must have had him on video. Just heard this from a couple dealers I know. |
