I'd rather not throw out any exact dates, but I plan to visit Germany in the near future. Specifically Frankfurt (main), Frankfurt (Oder), and Berlin. Any WoV members living in the Fatherland interested in a meet up? Also, anything in particular about the gambling scene in Germany you'd like me to check out. My previous visit to Germany showed the casinos there to be rather quiet and serious. Hopefully I'll encounter some that are a little more fun this trip.

I use nothing but actual roulette spins posted
online by German casinos for my practice
sessions. If you could notice how many roulette
tables are in the average German casino, that
would be great. And if they're busy or not. I
plan on visiting there in the next year.

I've only been in a few casinos in Germany. Many years ago some of them required a jacket and tie and charged an entrance fee - they seemed to have a separate slots area. I'm guessing there are several chains e.g.

Also you may want to check up whether the casino still exists as http://www.casinoseurope.com/germany/casino-frankfurt-oder/ says it's closed.

The casino in East Berlin I went to was, hands down, the worst casino I've ever been in. Incredibly serious and depressing. Maybe it will be different when/if you visit. I didn't go to the West Berlin casino, they charged an entry fee. I think it was two euro. I'd rather get a beer at McDonald's.

Why on earth would one visit Frankfurt an der Oder?

Not sure that's the correct term anymore.

"The Nazi' usage of the term "Vaterland" (English: "fatherland") featured in news reports associated with Nazi Germany and in domestic anti-Nazi propaganda during World War II. During the Nazi years, the word "Vaterland" had a moral tone of patriotic duty and obligation towards the country."

Why do they call Germany Fatherland and Russia... https://www.quora.com/Why-do-they-call-Germany-Fatherland-and-Russia-Motherland
I can't believe what I believe.

I certainly meant no offense.

This song is probably where I got it from.

"Heimat," or Homeland would probably be the more politically correct term.

Bush Administration' use of 'Homeland' bothered me a little bit. [W.]

Using tanks and missiles and everything in a victory parade, after the first gulf war, [that was H.W. Bush that time] bothered me a lot! It's like somebody sat back all those years watching the Soviets and N. Koreans do those weapons parades and unknown to the rest of us, they were green with envy. Go figure.
