I hate new things, too. But while I lost "my WoV", I can see that if I came to a sight and found it looking like this, I wouldn't be put off. In a week, I'll forget all about it.

Pls don't take this personal, it's not.
That response mirrors the first response issued by Coca Cola Inc.

But what do I know? They actually sell Pepsi in MY hometown. There aught to be a law......

My first impression is that the new configuration is not mobile friendly at all!

I am traveling with only my android phone for access. My first encounter was a notice that I have a new PM. I just can't see it. All I can see is a list of pages I can switch to but not the list of messages on the page. Oh, and a bunch of ads. Very frustrating and a giant leap backward in mobile friendliness, so far as I can see.

Also, as I compose this reply post, rather than showing the post I am replying to, it shows a block that says, "The post you are replying to

I really don't understand the "mobile friendly" thing at all. The previous version of the site scaled beautifully on my tablet and on my phone. This does not appear to me to be "better" in any appreciable way, at least (and only) relating to my mobile experience.

I agree.

The mobile friendly thing is being pushed by Google, and it's not at all about mobile friendliness, but about better standards in web design.

Mobile friendly sites are easier for Google to crawl and categorize.

As the owner of several web domains, I got email from Google advising me to upgrade my sites, or suffer shitty Google ranking.

Fortunately, I'm currently not marketing my services at all, so Google can go scratch.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? Note that the same could be said for Religion. I.E. Religion is nothing more than organized superstition.

Hope I'm not just missing it... but when I go to the blackjack sub forum, click a thread, then post in it or whatever, I can't get back to the blackjack sub forum without clicking "forums" and re-scrolling down to click blackjack again. That's really quite a pain. The breadcrumbs should be able to manage that (which they don't even show the blackjack sub forum I clicked to get where I am).

The site indeed looks more modern, I like the avatar idea/etc, but perhaps I'm a proponent of "the way things were" and don't like change lol.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I have a differing opinion on this. IMO the previous design was hard to read because it didn't scale right on my phone. The text was tiny and didn't wrap to the screen. The new one is a big improvement for me.

Regarding mobile friendliness, there is an app called "Tapatalk" that is specifically designed for reading forums on your phone. I really like it, but I think the site needs to sign up. Maybe it only works with compatible forum software.

I am not sure how the business side works. I use it to read the 2+2 forums but they don't seem focused on showing me ads.

The spoiler text now appears automatically, rather than when you click on the button.

Er, that defeats the purpose of the spoiler box, doesn't it?

If you click on it twice, the text hides, so I am assuming that it thinks the text is hidden to begin with and the first click displays it.

Overall I think it looks very good, but I have a problem reading the font - it is too thin, and many of the lines are less than a pixel wide and are being averaged to gray with the white background.

One thing I noticed on the main page is that I no longer see a distinction between threads I have read and threads that have new content since I last read them. The unread thread titles used to be in bold, whereas the thread titles I have read were in standard typeface.

This made it easy to see which threads had new content at a glance. Is there any way to restore that functionality?

This is a must have feature IMO. Please add it Zuga. That's how I navigate the site as well.

Im going to wait and see if I like the change. But right now I feel like I felt when I got a windows 8 computer. I returned it and got windows 7. It took a while but eventually I got a windows 8.1 tablet and I like it now but still prefer W7.

I LIKE the new WOV Icon it's way, way better than the OZ theme.. Its almost perfect.

Besides the annoying ads on the right.....
There is a list of 'most Active threads'
How the hell is that computed?
I understand the 2016 Election thread being #1
The rest I don't understand.
Is there a way to hide that 'bar', 'thing' entirely?
I'm accessing from an IPad, don't ever access mobile so I cannot speak to that.

Laughing now.....when I hit preview to check my grammar and spelling
There is a picture of some nerd to the left.
I saw that picture earlier today, and I really don't want to insult anyone.
Take 'Nerd' as a compliment, please. Pretty please.
But the lovely nerd pic is associated with jml24 on the screen, but that is not the Avatar that I see when I look at a post from jml24. Does that make sense?
Barely makes sense to me, and I wrote the friggin thing.....

I don't read the site on a mobile device, but I think this version looks more contemporary and inviting to new users.

The other one functioned fine, but people see something that doesn't look like it's been updated in 10 years and it smells of death so they move on.
