Didn't I read that the Odds site was what the buyers really want? If so that may not bode well for the forum.

I am sure the Odds site was what they wanted, but forums keep community going so I see it being here albiet possibly with major changes.

As I wrote on VMB, if they would somehow decide to "nuke" the forum like cardplayer did, I will definitely disown this forum (partly because I might not be able to post on it from that point like cardplayer). If they leave it mostly alone, I'm still posting here. Most rational people should know most of the value is with the Odds site. It summarizes the most salient points of gambling inquiries brought up by here. And I still haven't seen a site that is more comprehensive on casino games than wizardofodds.com. Discount Gambling is probably 2nd, but for games that don't have an exploitation, he'll just refer to the WOO site.

Ava Carson is rumored to have posed as Juicey Jenny while doing a pre-offer integrity check on Mike. You see what is going on with the NFL protecting it's brand ? Well, ZUGA could have easily started his own website for a lot less money. A huge part of the purchase was MIKE's good name. Notice that Juicey Jenny faded from the scene once negotiations started in earnest. If you can thing of another reason why a beautiful woman would have her picture deliberately blurred to hide her features, I would sure like to hear it.

Her exit had nothing to do with Mike or anything shocking.

I believe one reason she left was, she felt she had a bad reputation on here beyond repair. I think she finally realized the gravity of this.

She has done some modeling and things, and I didn't want it to affect her career. She obviously wanted to exit quietly and on good terms.

Lots of untrue rumors are flying around both on and off the forum lots of he said she said. Even a few little immature trolls spreading and twisting everything they hear. This is exactly the kind of thing she didn't want. Also a reason I didn't get involved in meeting up with JJ in person, that, and I have a wonderful GF who in fact knows about JJ and JJ is very aware I have a GF. (my GF's quote, "guys are idiots")

Last rumor I heard was, me and another member got into a fist fight while meeting up with JJ, neither me or that member ever personally meet up with her or got into fight. We both laughed at the silliness.

She did recently meet up with a member of the forum without incident or anything inappropriate. I was informed she was even more beautiful in person.
She informed me that member was a very nice guy and had fun. No chippies were involved.

I don't know who Ava Carson.

Best known as lips at the forum. Lips is currently residing in Chicago USA. An avid expert in online gambling. Her title is Global Moderator and her duties include content writing, blogging, article and news editor and writer, and in charge of bingo exclusives. She has been on our team for more than three years. She is a great PR manager for the LCB forum, loved and respected by the LCB community and by her colleagues. Open and friendly, she knows what players desire and crave and one of the first to assist our members. Her ideas are what have given our forum an edge over similar gambling forums. Also known as "LCB FBI" for keeping the forum honest and maintaining its INTEGRITY.

Direct from LCB website !

Key word here is INTEGRITY. That is what she was verifying in her undercover role as Juicey Jenny !

Despite Mike being given a press pass for G2E, and G2E being a golden PR opportunity for LCB, she will not be attending for obvious reasons.

And of this from my ex-wife in a parallel universe and an Administrator on the forum. One more piece of the puzzle of Ava Carson AKA Juicie Jenny :

" WoO is the gold standard of game analysis; it didn't become that by whoring. That standard is, hopefully, what led to the sale at a premium, and why the terms of the sale leave the Wizard in charge of content for years. Mike sold his site; he didn't sell his INTEGRITY. "

That word INTEGRITY once again.

But, my question, I skimmed through this thread and I don't think any of the new owners or current admins addressed this: What are the rules now? Since DT is owned by a different person than this site, I assume the (in my opinion: silly rule since there are plenty of appropriate off topic areas) that non gambling topics were not permitted no longer applied here?

I formally give permission to sell "my" forum registration email address to anyone you wish. And if you get more than $0.03 for that you are a frackin' business & marketing magician, for which I heartily congratulate you. Of course I always use one of my designated spam catcher web based email addresses for this kind of thing, never anything I'd consider a real address that I ever plan to use for any stuff I actually care about, like for communicating with actual humans. So if my trash email accounts that I rarely even bother to look at experience any subsequent uptick in the routine volume of marketing pitches touting all natural herbal miracle products scientifically proven and totally guaranteed to enhance the fullness and firmness of body parts I do not have, then I probably won't even notice, let alone be overly annoyed. And I'm not interesting enough to ever be part of any PM correspondence that's worth sacraficing any innocent electrons over, and I plan to stay that way.

And I personally don't give a fig if the site owner sells advertising to Satan. I do understand some others will feel differently about that sort of thing, and I think that's fine if they do, I won't quarrel with that point of view, but the content of ad sales just isn't something I choose to care about at all. Where I'd feel it concerned me is if, and only if, at some point that began to mean one could not comfortably post the opinion that "Satan Casino sucks; Lucifer's Online Den 'O Fun is a total ripoff!" If that kind of free flowing critical discussion became curtailed, then I'd soon find the forum function useless fluff, and would simply choose not to participate or read it any longer. Otherwise, all I'd have to say about advertising content is "Hope you make sure the Prince of Darkness check clears before the Feds get around to freezing Beezelbub's accounts, again."

I gather the new ownership has been particularly focused specifically towards online "casinos." Playing "virtual casino" games is not something that interests me in the slightest, and I do wonder if that might indirectly cause new user traffic and therefore eventually most discussion and forum information to center around that niche. If so, fine if that works for others, but if at some point this virtual joint doesn't have significant uncensored user generated content about live brick and mortar stuff it won't be of any further interest to me. I'm told that both the cocktail service and the valet parking arrangements for those online casinos is rather poor.

But, what about that thing we all should care deeply about? Which is the matter of whether a recently adopted mile of dusty interstate highway must now suddenly experience the heartbreak of becoming orphaned and abruptly abandonned? And especially, what now becomes of that sign that has been providing a precious sliver of shade for scorpions?
Suck dope, watch TV, make up stuff, be somebody on the internet.

If he was, then hopefully he was there to convince the show not to bring back the game "Hit Me". After the announcement that they're bringing back "Time is Money" (it is supposed to air on 9/22), anything is possible.

For those of you not familiar with the game: "Hit Me" is blackjack, with the dealer's cards dealt from the deck, but the player's cards come from a set of six grocery items; each item has a displayed price that is the actual price multiplied by a number from 1 to 10, and when you select a price, your card = the multiplier. The player wins pushes, but it had one strange rule; the house could treat an Ace as 1 even if it had a soft 17-19 if treating it as 11 meant that the player won (i.e. player has 19; dealer has soft 18 and hits, draws a 2, and wins - on the other hand, if the player has 17, dealer stands on hard 18 and wins). In an earlier playing, somebody had to explain to Bob Barker that "the house hits on 16 and below" does not mean "the house hits on 16 and below unless the house would win by standing".

Many years ago, all of the Ham we sold in my restaurants came from Yugoslavia. Not sure why it was cheaper to import it than domestic, but it was. All of that ended with the war. Useless trivia, but I remember it like yesterday.

haha way cool, was it the smoked ham, and do you remember its name by any chance?

What is not clear to me is the legality of selling the content of this site to a third party. It is my understanding that all message board posts, blog posts and reviews on sites like this are (c) the poster. In this case, the third party would need the explicit written permission of each poster to retain the content. Maybe a lawyer could comment.

Probably had to do with currency controls. Yugoslavia was notorious for not letting you get money out of the country, I remember a story where a car magazine went to see the home of the Yugo and they said they could not trade the currency (Zoltys? Sorry if I have that wrong, Zuga) back to western currency.

The movie "Kelly's Heroes" was filmed there partially because they studio could not repatriate the money from box office sales so they filmed a movie, paying the costs in said local currency. So my guess is the hams were some kind of counter-trade deal.

As a side note, while Yugoslavia was communist it was *not* "behind the Iron Curtain" and not directly allied with the USSR. Only European nation to tell Stalin to take a hike but stay communist.

Not trying to steal any thunder, Zuga, just can't believe the details I remember in life.

These writers certainly signed over all copyright to their employer as part of their contract.

@Buzzard

You just don't know when to stop do you? You are being a troll and disrespectful towards one of my LCB employees.

One thing is to question this sale, and be upset about it and to question things. This is why this topic exists any why Im here to answer all your questions. But your behaviour is totally unacceptable and I do not appreciate it one bit.

So stop being a troll, do not derail this topic and please show little bit of respect.

Thank you for your co-operation.

P.S.

Im going thru all the other replies and questions and will be replying to them soon.

Zuga

When you post on a public forum then you agree it will become the "public property" but also part of that forum. It is here for everyone to see it and it is daily being crawled by search engine spiders.

Everything you post at non private forums is now in the cyber space for everyone to see it , or even reference to it and / or quote it.

I don't disagree. But, also, that's kind of the definition of trolling. Walking down the line and trying to bait others into crossing it and all that.

All what ? ? ? This is a forum. Maybe not in the immediate future, but for the present. No one has to respond to anything I post. EVER.
There is a block option too. Trolling is usually the first accusation when someone disagrees with what I post, but has not the intelligence to offer a valid argument. Not saying that is YOU. Or any other member on the forum. Just saying !

Are you serious? You think the new owners, who's main business relates to online casinos, are going to use the content of the posts here for anything?

Also, the author of a post on a public forum does not own the post. If that were the case I could sue anytime someone quoted my text in another post.

I'm guessing you are a previous member here, as a person with less than 10 posts wouldn't care unless they were just trying to stir up trouble. Everyone needs to get a grip on themselves. I promise you, you are in more danger every day of your life to have personal information exposed outside of this forum than you are with any infor.nation that can be scrounged up here.

Jokes about assassinating Archdukes will lead to immediate suspension. Buzzard, are you listening?

Absolutely on my best behavior. I HAVE ALREADY BEEN WARNED. Surely you can see the change for the better in my posts since that warning. I am definitely a changed man. Who says you can't teach an OLD dog new tricks ? ?
