You heard it hear first. 3:2 $1 Blackjack
on the Strip. Yep, you heard me right,
on the Strip, and Not a one of the
stanky-a$$ grind joints.

MIRAGE has it on one of its big VIDEO
games. The PLAYBOY one. On one side,
it is 3:2. The other side is 1:1. Craaaazy.

- mostly standard rules I think.
- Double after Split, any 2 Cards
- Probably not RSA.
- Surrender is available
- MIN = $ 1
- MAX = $ 1000 I think
- No player's Club points, SAD ;-(

They also have at least one other version
with 6:5. Craaaazier. I guess they like to
give the PLOPPY lots of choices.

Maybe some kind of game-maker trial I
guess.

Maybe with a bit of luck this will be a start of a movement?

Well I've heard that things like mid shoe entry, must bet double on spread hands, cutting off x amounts of decks etc. are implemented in some casinos with the reasoning that "everyone else is doing it." Maybe by that logic casinos could do something positive.

There was something like this at Venetian / Palazzo -- may still be there. It gave points the same as any machine. Looked more like Game King than the ones with the dealer. Split one time, double 10 and 11 only. A marginal play, at best.

JohnnyQ, have you -- or any WoV forum members -- tried the 3:2 blackjack tables at the new Lucky Dragon Casino? I haven't been there yet, but we're going to Las Vegas in the next couple of days, and we'd like to see this smaller "Asian-themed" casino. Article doesn't mention table minimum or table "rules", but it's an inviting read!

The thing that is missing on these big screen Video Black-jack games is the fun you have when the dealer busts and the table gets paid and there is some hootin' and hollering and high fivin'.

* if you read the rules on these multi-player BJ big screen games, it says each player is getting cards from a separate "shoe". ( I doubt many players read or even care what the rules are).

We had a blast playing 6:5 BJ at PALMS for $ 5 a hand the day before. The friends we were with were 1st time visitors to Vegas and wanted to try BJ for low stakes. All 4 of us were playing and doing well (Nikki ran a $ 20 buy-in up to something craaaaaazy like $ 200 if I recall correctly) and I helped them by sharing basic strategy on most hands. Drink service was fast and friendly. I cashed out out about $ 50 ahead, and had been flirting with going up $ 100.

- Interesting side-story: There was a 20-something guy in a suit playing $ 25 a hand on the 6:5 $ 5 table, even though there was a $ 10 table with 3:2 beside it. Even more interesting, he was hitting hard 17's, at least several times while I was there. He never asked for any advice, so I never offered him any, although I would have been happy to.

So even though some members hate 6:5 BJ (and I totally understand why IF it ever fully replaces 3:2 blackjack), if the ploppies like the lower table stakes, then I say great. Even with 6:5 it is a much better bet than roulette or any slot machine, right ?

Nice thing about those tables is no tipping the dealer.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.

That's part of the reasoning behind the *stadium blackjack* type games. I haven't tried them myself but they are low mins just like the bj terminals.

Assume the worst, believe no one, and make your move only when you are certain that you are unbeatable or have, at worst, exceptionally good odds in your favor.
