Hi guys

Just signed up here and was wondering if any of you knew about protecting game IP in the UK?
I understand it's nigh on impossible to get a patent for a game in the UK so was unsure about my next steps.

I have developed a poker led casino table game but unsure where to start in terms of protecting it.

Any advice would be most appreciated!

Thanks

Hi, alexander!

I suggest you read this Game Inventor's forum for patent information, using the Search function above in the dark blue bar, using "patent" and the two guys I mention below as search parameters. I also suggest you PM either Switch or MrCasinoGames here if necessary, after you've checked their postings, and ask for their help, as they both have games installed in the UK. I'm not sure what-all they've said previous to this, so it's worth taking an hour or two to search before you just ask them for help, but both are usually very generous with advice.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

If you developed a new "LED table" and not just a new "game" your situation may not be as bad as you see it. If you are trying to protect the hardware of the new "LED TABLE" simply talk to a patent attorney near you. If you have created a new game, your situation is going to be different.

If everything is based around the new hardware, I'm sure you can indirectly gain protection on the game itself as no one should be able to operate the game without your hardware. Unless someone makes it better ;) so if I were you I wouldn't post anymore info publicly...
