Last weekend at the Showboat, I was playing a $1 triple play DDB and hit 4 aces and a kicker on the bottom hand for 2K and a full house on the top. Of course I hit that the first night and after giving the wife a bit, lost almost all of it back the next two nights.

I was having no luck at the Blackjack tables this weekend at the MGM Grand Detroit. Had one awful hand where I ended up splitting 2s into four hands, doubling down two of them against a dealer 6. Dealer pulled a 21 out of his ass and I lost all 6 bets. I decided that I was done with BJ for the day and dumped my last $100 into a video poker machine. Paytables at the MGM Grand Detroit suck, so I went with the least-sucky-but-still-pretty-damn-bad White Hot Aces.

After only a few hands I was dealt this beauty, for a cool $600:

Play VP at MC or GT, NOT MGM!!!!

I know, I wasn't in the mood to leave MGM for one of them.

I was basically in the "Fuck it, I'm throwing this last $100 away so I can get outta here" stage by the time I started playing VP.

Nice hit. Triple Bonus Plus is the game I'll short play at CET casinos in Vegas when I want comped beer at the bar (pays better than 8/5 DDB), and like MGM Grand Detroit apparently, 7/5 TB+ is one of the better games they offer. :( It's also the best game in my hometown at 9/5 (but they only have one working machine of it). Got a dealt steel wheel on it once at Gustav's Bar at Paris, but have yet to hit Aces, 2s, 3s, or 4s playing on it yet though. Bah.

If I could post the pictures from my phone, I just hit two $1000 royals in Spin Poker at MCC :-)

Edit: I just hit one more!

I've only been to MotorCity once, but when I was there I couldn't find many machines with good paytables. Where are they hiding?

Here are the highlights from my trip to Vegas on 2/27 - 3/6.

Main Street Station 100.17% DB 4 Aces @ 800 credits

Palms 100.76% DW 4 deuces @ 1000 credits

Main Street Station 100.17% DB 4 aces @ 800 credits

Gold Coast 99.82% STP JoB dealt straight with 10x multiplier @ 1000 credits

Rio 99.17% BP 4 aces @ 400 credits

Palms 99.54% JoB and my only Royal... 5525 credits

I had 19 opportunities with 4 to a Royal on quarter machines. Twice with 5 play STP JoB, once with 3 play STP JoB, and 6 times with single line games. I had 3 opportunities at the dollar level. In the end, my only Royal was on the 50 play 2 cent game that I played for about 3 minutes at the Palms.

Nice hit, when holding a pat hand like 4 of a kind and there is no possibility for improving it (kicker) I say always hold all 5 cards. I've never seen it but have heard of a 5th of the kind coming up and voiding the hand due to malfunction. Just a tip I picked up along the way.

Looks something like a Royal Aces game. If so, not as fun to play as it might look. Ace pair is lowest paying hand, so you go through quite a few hands getting nothing back. No wilds, so no relief with easy 3 of a kind.

But yeah, massive payoff when you hit something big.

It looks like 10/6 Double Double Bonus on a Double Super Times Pay machine, which returns 100.57%.

I see that 2 pair of jacks pays 30. So is that 3x pay multiplier that was hit? But 4 aces with no kicker on double double 3x should be 2400 not 4800. That's why I was thinking some version of Royal aces in a DD format.

edit, guess it is probably 6x 2 pair pays 5.

It looks to me to be a 10/6 Double Double with a 30 coin bet per hand. I have never seen 10/6 DBL DBL in a multi-hand format.

After looking again, I agree that it is "plain old" 30-coin 10/6 DDB. I initially thought it was Double Super Times Pay with a 3x+3x=6x multiplier based solely on the prizes, but there's no multiplier logo on the left of the decision hand so it can't be (plus, each hand indicates a 30-coin bet on them).

Most likely a penny or nickle game.

I'm guessing pennies, since anything higher (even 2¢) would have triggered a handpay, and it doesn't appear that the outcome was a handpay. However, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. For example, the photo could have been taken in between the display of "JACKPOT! $x,xxx" and "CALL ATTENDANT".

One apparently exists in the US for dimes. But its 40/10/6 = 99.96%.

http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/santa-ysabel

Also the hero in the picture was playing on a 40/10/6 99.96% DDB machine because he took an anticipatory shot of the machine that was wider out.

It was a penny Euro machine. He won 624 Euros ~ $811.

Had some interesting things happen tonight. Played the highest nickel Super Times Pay game I have ever found, 9/5 JoB (98.72%), and for the first time ever I saw a "neighbor" hit a Royal for $1000 on the other STP machine. At least my Royals still outnumber my neighbors'. :)

And not as exciting as his win, but I hit my first Class III slot "jackpot" ever tonight, only other one was on a Class II game ("Texas Tea"). To me "jackpot" = highest line win possible or better. This game was called "Goosin' Around" by WMS. You can't see the win because it was a free spin on a bonus game, but that fox in the bottom right corner, I got 5 of them for $50.

Hello, the classic long time lurker first time poster here!

These aces were hit by me in Casino Helsinki in Helsinki about three years ago. It was indeed 40/10/6 DDB one euro cent machine with 3 € max bet. But it has been MIA long ago, so no need to contact your travel agency. Last good VP - FP Pick'em - was removed just days ago so now we have only one progressive group, which is sometimes playable.

Royals! (and aces with kicker...)!

It's not really a jackpot, but it's my biggest hit of the year at a brand new casino to me (Four Winds in Michigan) and every one likes pictures right?

Also played 9/6 JoB with STP at Blue Chip in Indiana and hit that for a small $30 profit. Had a 1 in 1081 shot at $8k, but couldn't get there, obv. :(

Hopefully I can keep this up for Tunica next week!

Enjoyed the pictures. Hope to post a jackpot win in the form of a winning sports bet ticket and a stack of 100's. Not much chance of me hitting a machine jackpot as I'm not a big machine gambler.

Wait, what? How is a royal worth 16,000 credits before the multiplier? Did you find a malfunctioning slot machine? :)

Yep, it's multi-strike poker. 80 credits is max bet (4 x 20). 800 x 20 x 4 = 64,000 x .05 = $3,200. That was in January of this year.

mickeycrimm was talking about the bank of DW at the Peppermill. I was staying there for work 2 summers ago and didn't believe my eyes when i say this machine. I think there was only two in the group.

2.49% Player advantage (but of course you gotta hammer the machine until you get the deuces), but even without the Royal, it was still +EV. I think I hit this on my 2nd $100.
