I find it interesting to ponder too. I must admit it has crossed my mind to try a quadruple down at blackjack.
For those who don't know the move, suppose you have a three-unit bet at blackjack and you are playing in the fourth or fifth position. The guy at first base is deciding whether to hit or stand. You know you're going to double but instead of placing three units next to your bet you place the units on top of your bet. You turn your cards over indicating a double down and wait for the dealer to come to you. He'll do one of two things: he'll wait for you to place six units next to your six units or he'll divide your stack into two equal stacks and proceed to give you your double down card.
You must be a little drunk to try to pull this move off.
You can read all about this and other moves in Stanford Wong's Winning Without Counting.
I hesitate to mention the quadruple down move but cheating moves are already out there in many publications. I may ponder such moves but I very much doubt I would ever try one.

Ask a stupid question - of course there are. Where there's money to be made there's always going to be someone at it. I've heard of staff being sacked and players being barred, however most the time things are kept hush and the people involved quietly dismissed.Quote: moneyandcashare there casino cheaters?

Just a word of caution that conspiring to cheat a casino is a Class B felony in Nevada, punishable by 1 - 6 years in prison and a $10k fine. Where the line is between "discussing" and "conspiring" is up to the D.A., but I err on the side that keeps me out of the pokey.

Hopefully I'm not that dumb but you are correct in that I have no cheating skills whatsoever - I have enjoyed playing at casinos and have no intention of cheating. On the other side I hope that casinos have no intention of cheating me. Thus, on a different tack, I agree that discussing methods that people/casinos might use against players would educate and help others spot things! For instance, I heard in the old days dealers could affect things in the way they picked up the cards (alternately Hi Lo) and not [hand] shuffle very well - but hopefully that time has long gone since the cards have to be kept in order in case the hand needs reviewing.

In England, to sack is a verb and means to dismiss from employment.
"You're sacked" almost equivalent to "You're fired"
or as a noun
"I had to give him the sack" = "I had to fire him"

In the US an employer or boss fires an employee.
Sacked is more like when you get a co-worker fired, sometimes deviously ;-)
Has nothing to do with drugging them, sticking them in a burlap sack after stripping them naked, and leaving them outside the boss's office along with a pic of the boss's naked wife ;-)

Strangely "You're Fired" has become a catchphrase due to Sir Alan Sugar and "The Apprentice" TV programme, so I doubt the two phrases are now used interchangeably.
