My guess is Bally's as the capping feature, at least in my opinion, almost certainly was covered by the House Money IP.

NOW I WONDER WHO SAID THIS : If this game works out, then I'll have to change my fifth of my Ten Commandments for Game Inventors.

It is not Bally's and has nothing to do with the House Money IP.

Is it because the game is performing so well or so badly? Has to be one of the two. Shortie Blackjack has received patent for parlay.

I really can't talk about what I know. The company is purchasing the game because they like it.

Yes, we went live on July 1st. I gave it a 6 month trial. Other than looking for glaring irregularities I don't even start looking at numbers for 30 days, so no big info to give on how it's doing.

Excellent and I agree that short term numbers are pretty irrelevant in both directions. Also, I don't think anyone would expect specific numbers to be shared here.

Player reaction/participation can be a good indicator of how it will do once short term variance smooths out. Hopefully the players are trying out the game and the deal staff is liking the additional action......that is really all you can judge early on and even that doesn't tell you much about staying power of a game.

A six month trial is a great opportunity for a game to prove itself, so kudos for giving it that long before making a decision.

I am at The D this week. The D took out SHFL's "Flush Rush", the High Card Flush knock-off (it lasted some weeks???) and replaced it with War Blackjack. The dealers here are also dancers.

Flush Rush was really new to The D when I saw it the weekend of 5/3......probably was a 60 day trial for May & June.

Is War BJ still installed at Downtown Grand? They had put War BJ in around mid April I think as when I was there that same weekend, it was "a few weeks old".

I will check later. You were right it was there about one month ago. Here is another gossip, only in June, at Grand, table games were managed by the VP of operation. He was already let go this past week. OOPs..

Grand still has two tables of War BJ, but no signs. Grand was relatively quiet Sat night compared to other downtown casinos.

Grand is having some serious issues and probably will be looking for new owners soon. The caisno marketing department needs to be fired and a new experienced staff needs to be hired. Nice hotel, but no clue on how to run a casino and have each department knowing what the other is doing.

Intersting stuff Z.....looks like AGS has a few SHFL alum as well. Landon is a quality individual based on the few times I have spoken with him. Wonder if CEO, David Lopez (also SHFL alum), is looking to create a new table games distributor that will compete with Galaxy & Bally for table game real estate?

Why would AGS buy War blackjack if not for the purpose of getting into the table game arena? Landon is totally table game. Once AGS is in, it will instantly become the 2nd or 3rd LARGEST distributor of table games in the world :-)))) [Galaxy is the world largest now, with 15+ employees, DEQ is number 2, etc.]. With one more potential buyer in the market, this is great for the independent game developers.

Bally may refute this statement :-)......but agree with you that AGS entry into the space is a positive for independents.

Galaxy is the leading independent company, as seen on Galaxy's web site - somewhere else might have said to be the largest:

BYI Acquisition of SHFL

By now, you have probably heard the industry news concerning Bally’s acquisition of SHFL Entertainment. Since the announcement, I have received numerous inquiries about the significance of this event on GLXZ and our activities. Let me share some of our initial observations.

This transaction did not come as a surprise, since the lines between table game and other casino gaming products are becoming increasingly blurred. Bally’s desire to enter the table game space, however, only underscores the increasing importance of table games in providing a complete product line to the gaming customer. Clearly, Bally’s competitors have taken notice and they must determine their strategic approach pertaining to entering the table game space. This positions GLXZ to move into the spotlight as the leading independent company focused on the ever-expanding table game segment. While we continue to assess the impact the Bally / SHFL transaction will have on GLXZ, at this juncture we can find no negatives and we foresee only significant positives as a result of this transaction.

I want to recognize SHFL’s accomplishments and congratulate their employees for an incredible run. Started more than 25 years ago by a truck driver with a vision, and guided by some early industry pioneers, (four of whom are now with GLXZ), the company matured to reach a $1.3 billion market valuation. Bally has made a good investment and we welcome them to the table game marketplace.
