Thanks, that makes me feel better. I blame one of those three for misinforming me. Both names have the same vowel-consonant pattern, if you count "y" as a vowel, which it is in this context.

The fact that both decided to pull a reverse in the same race was quick surprising.... Too bad. This performance seriously damaged Shackleford's chances for Horse of the Year; just hope to see better in the Breeder's Cup. Nemo Omnibus Horis Sapit

At the risk of being too off-topic, the hurricane name lists are re-used every 6 years, so there was an Emily this year, too. Storm names that become memorable in the public conscious are retired, and are replaced with new ones. My guess is that Irene will get said treatment.
