I haven't played slots past my first few times on a casino floor a while back, but one thing I was curious about was the Wheel of Fortune slot machines. As the Wizard has explained a number of times, the pay back rate on slots is usually kept a secret, but for machines that are all linked together, like the Wheel of Fortune progressive, do they have consistent settings, or is there variation? Also, if it is know to be consistent, is the pay back rate on these a known figure? I've had the inclination a few times that I have gotten a few hundred dollars ahead on Black Jack or Craps to feed the machines and shoot for the $250k, but have always decided against it.
So I says to him, I said "Get your own monkey!"

To the best of my knowledge, wide area progressives (progressives linked to multiple casinos) have a consistent return percentage within the same jurisdiction and denomination. A wide area progressive in a Tribal casino is probably not on the same link as those in Vegas or Atlantic city. I think those that share a common jackpot (such as Vegas or Nevada) are all the same return percentage.

That is my understanding as well.
