I was very surprised when people said they never heard of the word janky. Perhaps its a regional thing. Young people in the 90's used it frequently usually referring to someones crappie car. Then it was used as a derogatory word to describe undesirable women almost always used with bi**h or bit**es. I think it can be used to describe anything dumb, crappie, uncool, sub-par/below standards.

IE. It's just some Janky roulette system.

So you want us to believe that someone who is desperate for a dollar turned in 200? That is BS. Also what casino security guard is going to give you a shirt for turning it in? I once found a purple chip on the floor at Taj Mahal. No one around. Kept it.

Found $200 cash on floor in casino garage. Kept it.

Watched elderly lady leave over $700 in slot machine. Called out to her to return to machine.

Found wallet on casino floor with over $1500 cash. Didn't trust casino. Had guy paged and returned wallet. Refused $100 reward. Had he not answered the page I would have turned it in to casino.

I told this one a while back. A woman found two $5000 chips on the floor at Mohegan Sun and turned them in. After a short investigation the patron who lost them was determined. It was further determined that he was still checked into his room and he was contacted. His reaction on being informed of the find: "she found them let her keep them". A casino employee involved in this swears that this happened.

I tried this once. No good (unless maybe you come back the next day...or many hours later).

Casino cameras tracked me down. They could follow me backwards in time to where I picked up the cash.
And forwards to locate me, even though I didn't give a name.

I got read the "riot act".
Turned in money. Waited 30 days. Security claimed a lady came to pick up funds. I don't know.

Personally I've had casino surveillance help return money I've forgotten in machines (and one time stolen 2 feet away from me) maybe 6-10 times, so surveillance does help people.

Lost my wallet twice in casinos. Both times returned with all money intact (I do daily "cash counts", not even a $20 missing), and both times I gave the person a reward.
Lost my phone many times. Only once did it stay lost (and that had a cracked screen, so I was kind of glad I lost it...)

Funny, what doesn't get returned is "nice insulated coffee mugs" (the ones casinos give away for free). Go figure.

High-limit staff person at one casino told me a story about how one lady dropped a few thousand on the floor (not at casino where he worked). He picked it up to return to her, and she was "like, oh that's not mine". He said "I should have followed her around all day..."

Lost a fake rolex in some casino hotel room...never got a call. (Back in the days when I used a "Jewish bankroll" & high-end fake rolex to "fit in").

This is absolutely a commonly used term in east-bay California (Oakland, Union City, Hayward).

Jankety is normally followed by the word "ass" and is used to described property not people or actions.

I haven't read the rules related to these offenses.

I think half the problem is being aware of the rules.

So you read the rules and understand this to be bannable? Which rule?

Continuation of this discussion I think belongs in the discussions about the suspension list.

Is that something you looked up on the internet? There's a "proper" meaning/use of a words, then there's the way people actually use the words in the real world. I didn't have to look up Janky ass btch to know that was probably the most common use of the word nowadays . However I could just be making that up. But I actually was in a conversation with another member and mentioned "Janky ass btch", he had a good laugh. I do know I have been in a RL serious situation where its been used in that way. It's normally something male teens say while saving face or dogging on some chick once she's left the area.

After further investigation it seems the word was also used to describe things dealing with some gaming communities, computer science "janky software or parts".

It may have come from the word jinx.

there's references to "janky old boat".

Anyways this conversation is kinda jank.

I wanted to repeat that this dealer was fired as a result of the error, but of course they thought he was trying to give me a $95 bonus instead of giving the casnio a $190 bonus.

I felt great about him getting fired, and I enjoyed the entire staff at this table not knowing WTF happened. And of COURSE they blamed him because he had this highest incident of mistakes and the least concern for getting anything right.

The casino cheated, not me. And that's a FACT! They shouldn't have ever had this guy dealing craps. Period!

As often as I play in town, if I had ever cheated at this game, it would be very well known that I was a cheat.

If the "money" is in the form of a casino issued chip or ticket, it's casino property until it is properly cashed out by the legitimate bearer. The casino operator issues, controls and manages its own currency, so to speak. This is to say that if it is improperly cashed out (in other words, by someone who has no right to that money), the casino may raise an issue and refuse to cash it out. Casinos often have a rough time trying to manage the morally challenged people they seem to attract.

By the way, if people have to get paid in order to do the right thing (via being paid off with a reward), the question arises, would people otherwise do the right thing if they weren't paid? Would people do the right thing for free, of their own accord, if not paid to do so? I guessing often not.

Do you have any proof for this? Chips might have wiggle room, but a ticket, I don't think so. If it I given to me in place of money, something to which I am legally entitled, it is my property. If the ticket is never cashed, then the casino might wind up with the money if not the state. Still in a ticket form which is still valid, the casino has no right to it until they have a right.

I've heard many stories where managers in casinos accused of "finding the owners". It is a scene watching the employees in Pennsylvania react to lost money. Say a purse on the ground, the slot attendant puts her foot by it leg stiff at an angle, then security comes and gets it. I have always been suspicious there is a reason for such never letting them put a hand on it, like the employee would have a legal claim if she touched it. It is so stupid.

I've had my tickets taken out by casino staff once. I found them before they found me, so never sure if they were actually looking for me. I knew I left money there so knew to look for an employee, but if I had assumed I ran credits out, I might have forgotten completely I left any money.

How about this...

I'm playing blackjack at a $25 table. I'm pretty much even going up and down for an hour. A guy comes ands started playing mid-shoe. I have about a $50-$100 bet spread out there through the whole game, and I gett in some good variance hitting a couple of blackjacks within a few hands of the new guy sitting in. He had the nerve to say that I should "throw him a chip or two" because him sitting down "changed" the order and helped me win.

Well, now you and he are assuming that the current "good" result was better than the hypothetical outcome if he had not sat down. What if I could have had 3 Blackjacks in a row, or 3 double down hands in a row and won all 3. In addition, if I'm on a losing streak because of his mid-shoe entry, I don't see him paying throwing me a "chip or two."
