Anyone know how many "spin" symbols are on the 3rd reel? Ive been averaging prob
1 in 15 or so lately in some places.

It depends on the machine. Looking at the paytable will help figure it out.

If, when betting 3 credits, the prizes for payline wins are 3 times as much as the prizes for betting 1 credit (such as three mixed bars paying $5 when betting 1 credit but $15 when betting 3 credits), then the SPIN symbol won't occur very often on the 3rd reel because the bonus return is built-in to the paytable.

However, if the 3-credit prizes for payline wins are the 2-credit prizes, then the 3rd credit pays only for the bonus and the progressive, and the SPIN symbol will occur more often than on the other type of machine. Here is a picture of three machines of this type: there are only distinct prizes for betting 1 and 2 credits, while the 3rd credit pays only for the progressive and the bonus. So if you bet 3 credits and have a payline win, you are being paid as if you had bet 2 credits (2/3 of what the payline win "should" pay), but the difference is made up by having the SPIN bonus occur more often.

Thanks for the explaination and how to pick out the right machines JB. I tend to only play two credit games myself.

I need to pay better attention to the paytables now.

Last night, Oct 12,2014 I went to Winstar and played the Wheel of Fortune progressive slots. Neither myself or 3 other guys playing , won anything at ALL and this was after about an hour of playing. I don't think I'll repeat that experience. Also I stopped at the Thackerville Gaming center just before you get to Winstar and played the Elvis something machine with 3 wheels and with ONE quarter, I won 267.00 after 2 spins. Well I've learned my lesson before, so I got up with my $267 and got outta there. Overall I would have to say the whole casino thing was exciting and memorable, so I can't ask for much more. Take Care, Good Luck
