I found a slot machine at one of my regular spots in Vegas called "Egyptian Dreams" by Spielo. It had a feature called "sticky wilds" which was basically that certain wild spots on the reel would stay until they hit on that line. The interesting thing I found was that there are different betting denominations for this game and each denomination has it's own reels usually with one or two wilds that have been abandoned by the last player. I remembered reading a thread started by Mission146 that talked about "locking wilds", but these sticky wilds seem a little different in that they disappeared when hit instead of dropping down.

My girlfriend wanted to take a shot at some slot machines, even though the idea of playing anything -ER really turns me off... so I told her that if she's set on playing a game, we should try the Egyptian Dreams game. I went through the reels and saw a denomination that had four wilds abandoned. She slipped in a $5 and six spins later, she won $90.

I'm a big believer that if you don't KNOW you have an edge, you probably don't... but I also think that maybe there is something to this game and perhaps some other games with "sticky wilds". After weeks of (successfully) vulturing UltimateX multipliers and (unsuccessfully) looking for wongable WMS and Ainsworth MHB progressives, I'm hoping for a few more advantage plays I can be on the lookout for.

Does anybody have any info on this game? Is even just a single sticky wild enough to turn this type of slot into a positive play (assuming you walk away as soon as the wild disappears)? Are there other sticky wilds that you know about?

Here's a Youtube Video of the same machine in San Manuel Casino in CA :
I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

I've not seen these specific machines, but I would say that the video didn't look terribly promising. The machines of which I spoke, Money Works and Venice Nights, tend to hit very well when you pick up Wilds on a reel other than that upon which you originally found them, and therefore, have multiple reels with one or more Wild symbol.

The first thing I would want to know is whether or not these Sticky Wilds only appear on Reels 4 & 5, because the video didn't show them anywhere else. Beyond that, I would go ahead and play if you think it looks good, but would maybe watch a couple thousand spins and determine a return percentage based on x number of Wilds being available. Turning $5 into $90 could be significant, or meaningless, if she hit an unlikely and higher paying combination.
