Why in the world are smart phones allowed within 10 feet of a poker table. Players on tv are pulling phones out while in hands and everything.
It seems incredibly ludicrous to me that it's allowed. What's to stop someone from actually looking at a broadcast, that's a stretch, but makes my point.

What are they looking at? How to play the next hand?
I've been a camerman on pokerstars type productions in vegas when they were/are using small jibs and I can see people texting while playing. I also saw what looked like cards on one smart phone, but can't be sure of that.
It's not all robotics yet.

Still, it seems weird. Just like I detest sunglasses at the table. Hiding behind shades is a cop out to me.

It doesn't seem to be causing any issues since there is a delay. I watch live at the bike and stones live poker sometimes and you can see the players have the stream going on their phones. I think some pros have issue with their hidden hole cards being shown and thus avoid televised events but I don't really know what the net effect of that info being released is.
Assume the worst, believe no one, and make your move only when you are certain that you are unbeatable or have, at worst, exceptionally good odds in your favor.

With all the miniature hearing devices available today that wirelessly connect to your smartphone, including hearing aids that are deep in the ear canal, it's conceivable someone can be hearing broadcasts or something. I think this is a growing problem with casinos too.

Are the players for the big events checked for devices and such? The phones need to be fairly close to the devices in some cases. I've never worked b'roll or behind the scenes yet at these gigs so I only see the game space. Been a while too.
I had to turn down a couple of jobs and you fall out of favor rather fast in this biz.
Some streaming isn't delayed by the way.

There was a plot in a tv show (possibly "Las Vegas") where a poker cheater was being signed by the camera men who were being told the hole cards from the production crew.
DUHHIIIIIIIII HEARD THAT!
