I've been wanting to play in a poker tourney lately...I know HC Charles Town now offers tournaments 5 days a week, but the buy in is relatively high for a midweek tourney ($150), and I've heard the structure is kind of wild. I can't find the actual tournament structure anywhere online...can someone post a link to it or comment on how good/bad it is? How do the Delaware casinos compare in terms of tourney structure? Charles Town is about an hour away, whereas the DE casinos are all at least 2 hours away (if I'm going that far, I might as well go the extra distance to AC). If HCCT is lousy, I'll go elsewhere, but if it's comparable to elsewhere, I'll save the time and gas.

Thanks for the information. Last time I played a cash game @ Hollywood CT, a player said the tourney structure was "garbage" and turned into a crapshoot after the first few rounds. I just wanted to know if there was any evidence to back that up.

If I were to go to Atlantic City (might as well since it's only an hour from Philly), is Golden Nugget doing any good tournaments? Their structure looks like it could be good for someone who wants to play a while. I'm not a regular player, but I've come in the top 5% and moneyed in several tournaments, and usually finish in the top 20% or so.

It does not appear that GN-AC is listed on bravopokerlive.com so I went directly to their website. The following:

Saturdays, 12PM, The Poker Room
$10,000 Guaranteed No Limit Hold ‘em Tournament $100 + $20 buy-in for 15,000 starting chip stack
Optional $40 add-on for an additional 10,000 chips
30 minute levels- great structure!

Sundays, 12PM, The Poker Room
$2,012 Guaranteed No Limit Hold ‘em Tournament $40 + $10 buy-in for 10,000 starting chip stack
Optional $20 add-on for an additional 5,000 chips
20 minute levels- great structure!

Is all that is listed for Poker Tournaments. From the main page, I went to the Poker drop-down menu and then the Tournaments drop-down menu after Poker, and the first thing that came up was Slots tournaments!!! I could be wrong, but I would tend to guess that their emphasis is not on the Poker Room, especially if they are not listed on bravopokerlive.com because almost everyone is.

Yeah, I don't know how "good" of a following they would have, since they're new to the scene and Caesars, Trop, Borgata, and Taj have established rooms. I gave it some thought and, considering I have comp nights at Trop, I might just head up to AC for a night and play there, where I know what to expect. I can play in 2 tourneys in AC, where I know the scene at least at Trump Taj and Trop, for less than one tourney in WV or DE, and I can stay overnight for free.
