Another new side bet I saw in Belgium is the Roul 8. It is a roulette side bet involving the same Infinity Dice I mentioned in my page on Perfect 11's. Seems to me that roulette side bets are starting to catch on.

Please click the link and let me know what you think. As usual, I welcome all questions, comments, and especially corrections.

The question for the poll is would you play Roul 8?

In your second table, you state that it is single zero roulette, but I think it's double zero.

Thanks for the correction.

Can you play this side bet without a main game wager? Is the minimum wager 10 Euros? What is the maximum?

Is anyone else bothered by the presence of a vibrating Pop-O-Matic machine next to, or integrated into, the roulette table? Does something smell fishy in Belgium?

Does "Roul" mean something in one of the Euro languages? or is it just a play on "Roulette"

I don't know about playing the Roul 8 by itself. Minimum and maximum were both 5 Euros in Brussels.

Despite a lot of action on the many roulette tables, I didn't see anyone making this bet. I feel roulette is just not conducive to side bets (sorry DJ). So I don't know at what point the dealer shakes the dice and how much it may slow the game down.

I think's just a play on the word Roulette.

Say it. Rouleight.
Without the space, it's a play on the word Roulette. Plus the number 8 looks like a sideways infinity symbol.

No need to apologize. While I respectfully disagree (and you knew I would), I'm encouraged that even a goofy side bet such as this is being given a chance.

For those that missed the memo, I created a Roulette side bet. http://www.poker-for-roulette.com

Maybe it actually is supposed to be an "8" and not an "infinity" on the three dice? Since there aren't any other symbols on the other five faces, there is no way to tell which way is up. Does the game literature refer to them as "infinity" symbols?

Very clever. I never thought of that. Speaking of not thinking, maybe the dice don't have infinity symbols but 8 symbols. Now that I think about it, I have no idea why I assumed infinity rather than 8. Perhaps just the way the die was oriented when I looked at them.

But don't they use those same dice in Perfect 11s ? What would be the reasoning for having dice with 8s on them in that game ?

Yes, exactly the same. Maybe it is just a branding thing. Kind of like how lots of games at Caesars properties have the same Millionaire Maker side bet.
