I've been a avid reader of Mikes websites for the last year or so. Really great source of information. Its unfortunate the my first post here has to be a complaint. I just didn't know where else to go to address the issue. I read the review for many online casinos and thanks to Mike I was able to cash out on 3 of them. So thank you Mike for all the reliable information that is vital for any gambler online or not. One of reviews I read was Sunset Slots on Wizard of Odds and decided to make some deposits.

On January 31st my Sunset SIots account was blocked or closed without
explanation.

To be fair I have had a great experience at Sunset Slots until this
unfortunate event. Deposits were smooth and live chat customer
service is almost Nordstrom's level. Account managers like Steven,
Brian and Morty are really good people that want you to have a great
experience.

Am I wrong to be upset about Sunset Slots closing my account that
have a cash balances? I have a single account at Sunset Slots Casino. I have made 4 deposits and
maintained a $5,800 cash balance.

I was playing my cash balance/bonus for their 200k guaranteed
tournament. I play slots and some blackjack. Just 1 hour before the end of the tournament, my account
was blocked. "Sunset Slots Casino Message your account is blocked.
Contact Support for more details" I was playing with $8,800 ($5,800
real cash and $3,000 bonus) and in the running for at top prize based
on my wagering in the last 24 hours. I thought it was a
misunderstanding as I had studied the Sunset Slots Casino terms and
conditions from top to bottom. I find it very suspicious that they
block my account account with one hour left in the tournament after I
had wagered hundreds of thousands in the last 23 hours. I had already finished my wager requirements was using my cash balance to get points for the tournament.

I contacted their Live chat and emailed but they haven't gotten back
to me. I finally called and talked to Liam. He told me that my account
had been closed by casino management and my remaining $2,118.38
cash balance was forfeited and there wasn't anything I could do about
it. Along with my $200,000 guaranteed tournament ticket and the cash
for placing.
The loss of money and time is truly sobering. I agree that the time and money spent on online casinos is just not worth the trouble and frustration. I learned a valuable lesson here. If an online casino Like Sunset Slots see that your winning too much they can just close your account without explanation. Am I wrong to feel cheated and scammed?

There is absolutely nothing in the Sunset Slots terms and conditions
that I violated. Hopefully this was just a mistake.
4.1.2 I have only 1 account.
4.1.3. I have entered all mandatory information requested when I
signed up. All information is current and correct.
4.1.6. I have never transferred funds from my account to other players
or to received money from other players into my account.
4.1.9. I have signed sent all credit card voucher documents to verify
my identity and to authorize use each specific card used deposit. I
have provided a copy of my Drivers License and well as my bank
statement to verify my address.

Thanks to websites like Wizard of Vegas and Wizard of Odds we can hold
online casinos accountable.

Do you believe this is unfair and bad behavior on behalf of Sunset Slots? Or am I just another sucker who fell for the trap? Thanks for taking the time read my post and any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Based on the description of your play, they probably thought you were using a bot. Also, if they are Rival, you are doomed.

http://blog.newrtgcasinos.org/2012/12/sunset-slots-casino-for-better-or-worse/

"Numerous complaints have been made over the months. One of the first grievances relates to an email promoting a $50 no-deposit bonus that mysteriously expired when the player tried to claim it (less than 24 hours later, no less). Others have complained that while Sunset Slots clearly targets Canadian players (a rarity among Rival licensees), the T&Cs disallow them from claiming any free bonuses. This brought about an entire new question as to how Sunset Slots can even accept Canadians when Rival prohibited Canadian activity three years ago. A long line of slow payment complaints have risen as well.

Does this mean we should toss an instant rogue label on them? Let’s not be too hasty. It’s obvious these guys have a lot of kinks to work out. It could simply be a matter of prematurely launching an online casino before they were anywhere near ready. On a more realistic note, however, I certainly wouldn’t send my friends to this new Rival casino anytime soon."

Thank you for your response Teliot. Sunset Slots and all of its sister casinos owned and operated by Engage Entertainment uses Pragmatic Play (formally Topgame) and Betsoft. They do not use Rivial software. I can 1000% confirm that for all 19 casino properties.

I am from the Us and Sunset Slots accepts US players. I wasn't playing on a no deposit bonus. At the the time I had deposited $500 for a 500% match with 35x wager and ticket for their 200k guaranteed tournament. I also added $800 cash from my cash balance. I completed wager requirement but eventually lost it all. The casino staff made a deal with me to reverse my $5,000 withdraw request and put it play for three times to points for the 200k guaranteed tournament. I agree and continued to play with my $5,500 cash balance. I was only playing my cash balance so I can accrue more points for the tournament. With about $2100 left they blocked my account and voided my tournament ticket. Based on my gamblers record, I had wagered $400,0000 and with the 3 times the points that would have been enough for 10th place or $3,535.

I played 90% slots and the other 10% Blackjack or Baccarat. Beside sleeping for few hours. I played the entire day until my account got blocked. Perhaps I was banned for playing too much? I was playing in a 24 hour tournament where every dollar wagered equals 1 point.

As far as slow payments are concerned. I can agree that payment is extremely slow. I'm sure why it takes 3 weeks to send a USPS certified letter from San Diego. (San Diego is where the checks come from) If you do everything right your looking at 3 weeks at the earliest for a paper check. Most likely it will take longer because you'll miss a document or send it too the wrong department email. You have to first fill out a credit card voucher authorizing the payment and email it to security . Second you have to scan and email a copy of your ID and Credit card, Third you have to provide proof of address. Finally you have to provide account numbers, routing number to the accounting department and a canceled check to the the security department.

I'd also like to add, Sunset slots and it's sister casinos will put you on a payment plan. The max you can withdraw per week is $500. Each time you withdraw they charge you a $20 fee.

All that to cash out. That'ss why I like Bovada you can just cash out without having to do anything but press a button. There no fee on your first withdraw too. Still takes a month to get paid though.

Good luck with that!

I play on-line a lot with UK and European casinos (that don't serve US players). They almost all have a catch-all rule that pretty much says 'we can close your account when we feel like it and can keep the balance' Also, wagering requirements are almost impossible to meet and bonuses are generally toxic, even with the good casinos

I've had one of the bigger and more trusted ones deny me bonuses that were rightly mine and then close my account locking nearly $1000 in.
For those reasons, I NEVER let my balance exceed £1,000 and I make a point of withdrawing regularly for my own peace of mind.

Thanks for the response. So it happened to you too. That's really unfortunate. How can online casinos stay in business if they have a reputation for closing accounts with balances over a thousand ? After a while wouldn't gamblers start to catch on?

Did you ever get your money back or at least your deposits back? That's just not fair.

I think you're right on about never letting your balance exceed 1,000. I've been able to cash out $500 twice in two sister casinos.
But once I got my balance up to $5,800 it must have sent off some red flags and issued that catch-all rule.

I have an account at Rich Casino (sister casino to Sunset slots) Which has a cash balance of $3,000 and is pending withdraw. I finished the ridiculous 40x wager. Support says I have not violated any terms as of now. However, I logged in today and noticed that they took out the deposit option in the cashier. Seems like trouble is coming.

Not sure exactly what you mean. But as far as ownership sunset Slots is not really a rouge casino, its owned and operated by engage entertainment group inc which own about 20 other online casinos. Their flagship seems to be Rich Casino.

The bonus they confiscated was £150. I never bothered to pursue that, because I had rather taken the p155 out of the bonus regime.
I did manage to get my withdrawal request honoured with luck, guile and good timing. Won't be going back there or to any sister casinos.

Well, wrap this one up guys... Though any online casino can take your money and block your account for NO REASON AT ALL (in their T's and C's), but this one apparently found they could rip you off of a couple grand as well as have a "real" reason.

The web site seems to be using geolocation to present you and I with a different set of terms and conditions. That reeks of shady dealing. The terms I see use currency of £. I bet yours shows dollars.
I don't see anything in their terms about forfeiting your balance, though such terms are very common. In fact the terms seem to be drafted in a simplistic, even amateurish way.
What they can do in practice is unlimited. Whether that is right or legal is untested, but you are looking at the fledgling legal system of a tiny island. In your shoes, I'd be tempted to walk away from a lost cause, but it's your choice.

I know I'm late to the party on this but you couldn't be more wrong in that respect. You've been playing at a casino that is part of a known bad group that have been ripping off people for years. As soon as you get ahead they will find an excuse not to pay you as that is the way they operate. Rich Casino is as rogue as they come. Aside from outright ripping people off the group is famous for falsely promoting a story about a player winning the same gold bar separately at every single one of their sites.

I don't know how to post a link here but look them up on CasinoListings.com which has a lot of info on their blacklist page about them (full disclosure, that is my site btw).
