e-craps (electronic everything except the dice are real) at Maryland Live.

bought in for $1000.

lots of 7's came :(
decided to play the Don't. got to $1100, then cashed out since i had to goto the bathroom.
I thought this was EASY!

I was going to leave when i decided to collect data on how the Rewards points accumulate on the e-craps machine.
and the Don't bets are perfect for this:
at 3/4/5x odds, the flat bet and the odds bets are all the same: $8 flat/$48 odds
so i only had to keep track of how many of these 2 amounts were in play each roll.

unfortunately, 2 10+ hits came.
from 1100 to 400 in a very short amount of time :(

my curiousity cost me $700 :(
should have heeded the warning that curiousity killed the cat, and left after cashing out the 1st time :(

Rewards calc here: https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/craps/10465-data-for-e-craps-rewards-calculation-math-doesnt-add-up/#post160957

Anyway, it was great when i was winning with the Dont.
when the 2 hot rolls came, it became worse than the usual losing $. The fun i have in Craps is pressing my bets and seeing my winnings multiple.

but with the Don't, not only am i losing $ on a hot streak, i could have been pressing bets if i was playing the Right side and having major fun.

felt more bitter than just the usual losing of $.
very bitter that i had to stand on the sidelines forced to watch point after point being hit all the while thinking I could have been pressing BIG :(
going broke playing the Rightside would have felt less bad.

cured of the Darkside indeed

if you want to press, how does the darkside prevent that?

did you determine if your odds bets accumulate reward points?

hm.. oh wow.. this idea just came to me.

for the Right side, i press after 6 Hits.

For the Dont, I could press after 6 Hits w/o a point being made.
I had a streak of like 12 #'s that never repeated before the 7out.

Thx for the idea.

And is this what you meant by pressing the Darkside?

100xodds; WOW you had a 100%+ win and went back. I wouldn't have played again for at least a week maybe two after a 100%+ win!!

I would have quit after a 50% win and walked away happy for a good while .

But you beat them for $400.00 - !!

If you stay to long one always give back the win. No matter which way you play---right side or darkside. Take it from me.

I used to leave my home at 4:30 am on Saturday drive the 100 miles to ... get there about 6:30 am or so and start in. Usually a $500.00 buy in. If I got up over a $200.00 win I'd cash out and drive home and take my wife out to dinner that night. Did this many times. Small wins.

If I just couldn't "make it work" on any given morning trip --- ie. lost $200.00 quick-- I'd cash out and be home by 11 AM. Very glad that I didn't give them the whole $500.00 buy in! STILL TAKE THE WIFE OUT TO DINNER THOUGH.

I never play for fun....always play for the $$$$ AND I NEVER GET DISAPPOINTED WHEN I CASH OUT ANY WIN !

Set a dollar amount win goal and when you reach that goal STOP. Set a loss max too. When you lose that amount STOP. (Unless you have unlimited resources....but if you really can afford to lose--- why play at all. ?

There's a true story about a guy who won over $20,000,000.00 at a downtown Vegas casino. If you don't know about this story you'll really be sad to here he gave it all back and ended up working for that same Casino. A good lesson in knowing when to quit.

Missed that-read it to quickly-Sorry.

Anyway,What can anyone say really. Happens on both sides of play though. .

i used to get pissed off at blackjack. So I rarely play BJ anymore.

I would say if it really gets you down seeing things always going the wrong way or opposite way I Wouldn't play for a while as well as lower my expectation of winning.

I play either side at any given time depending how I 'see' (trend) how the table is going. This is tough though since crowds at the tables sometimes can prevent one from getting into play. I can remember enough times just watching and wishing i could squeeze my way in to place the Numbers.

Choppy tables suck. And what many folks don't do is switch up their play. Now switcing up doesn't always work either. That's the agony of craps. But when I simply "must play" (not much anymore though) when things are choppy I play the field --low bets for a while with a progression $$ values till I can see if a hot trend or darkside play would fit at that given time.

YOU KNOW THERE IS NO WAY/or system TO GAURANTEE A WIN. RIGHT.

For some folks... like me at blackjack.....they just shouldn't play.

That is a decision we all have to come up with at different times in our lives. maybe skip playing for a year or so? Once I went two years without playing and I missed it ==but== I didn't play.

Most folks do lose===always remember that.

I had a very similar experience with table games in AC about six months ago. I was staying at Bally's, for their Baccarat Palace (which I should probably write up a trip report on when I get time), but wanted to spend an afternoon playing at the Trop to check out the property (mainly because their Asian games looked good). So I had a really great session playing Sic bo and was up by about $720. But I was starting to get hungry and wasn't really feeling the game any more and collected my chips and planned to go cash out and eat. But I wanted to check out the Trop's Baccarat tables while I was there, so I wandered into the high limit room and, hey, there's single-zero Roulette. ($25 min, $10K max; $10K max on even money bets, $5K on columns, $500 en plein, if anyone's interested.)

So I get change and put nine $5 chips down on voisins du zero. First spin it's one of the black pockets right by the zero and I'm up eighty-five bucks. So I make the same bet again. Ball lands in one of the red pockets right by the zero and I'm up another $85. So I'm thinking, hey, this is cool, and make the same bet a third time, and the ball stops about as far away from zero as it can get. So I double my bet and put ninety bucks on voisins du zero. And the ball does the same thing again. So I double that and put $180 down, thinking that this won't keep happening and I'll at least recoup my losses. And it ends up way back in the Tiers a third time. And so I figure, hey, I just won this money, let's give it one more go, and I put down $360 and the ball stops at the other end of the wheel again. So I'm looking down at my chips and count through them and, six Roulette spins after having been $720 ahead of where I was when I walked in the door, I'm now only up by $45. I went to the cage, then went out to eat (which cost more than $45), down by $675 that I wouldn't have lost if I hadn't had to check out the Baccarat tables that I ended up forgetting to take a look at.

Famous last words. When you're winning at roulette,
its the easiest and stupidest game in the world. Then
it takes all your money.

I believe you are making an emotionally charged mistake in avoiding the power of the dark side. However, it is critical that you avoid the devastating losses that a hot shooter can create. To avoid this myself, I will stop betting on a particular shooter if I endure a loss of a significant bet. The house has to take it - you don't.
