Would like to here some stories of your biggest bet placed .

Did you win (which I hope so :) )? How did you celebrate the win ?

If you lost, ( which I hope not :l) Did you get mad ? ( I do sometimes, trying to work on that !!)

What made you place the big bet ?

Count ?

Steaming ?

For the hell of it ?

When I play poker, ($1/$2), I'll occasionally push up to $200 in a single bet. Not often, but it happens.

If I'm playing any table game, I play a progression where my bet inches up after each win.

The highest I ever got was $135 on a progression that started at $15.

My 2 biggest bets were both losses :(

first was about 8 years ago when in my early 20's and brought 2500 with me for the 3 day weekend in Vegas. About 1 hour before leaving for the airport I was down half my bankroll(1250)...I made the decision that I was either gonna leave Vegas Even for the weekend OR spend the whole bankroll! I made a $1250 bet at the Pai Gow poker table.....I was dealt a not so great hand of AK with a pair of 4's.......Dealer showed 2 par 10's and 6's....I left down 2500 LOL

And the other was in poker......If you can count one hand as one bet...I was dealt A(h)J(h) under the gun at a $5/$10 NL table. I made it $30 to go.......highjack makes it $80 to go.......BB calls...I call(only becasue highjack is a very loose player...and BB had only been at the table for 10 min)......Flop....7(h)8(h)k(c)......BB bets $125.....I min raise $250..... highjack calls.....BB calls my raise.......Turn comes.....2(h).....BB checks........I bet.....$425......HJ calls....BB folds.........River comes...6(h)...I bet $500...HJ goes all in for $980.....I call.....He rolls 9(h)10(h)....I leave table to have a smoke LOL...after coming back to table BB tells me he had A(s)K(s). SO I lose 80+250+425+980=$1735............The funny thing is about 1 hour later I caught a HUGE suck out on the HJ and end up leaving the table for the night up $2200

A few years ago I was at the Plaza downtown with a bunch of guys on our bi-annual Vegas trip. It was pretty late and we've all had MANY cocktails. We were in the middle of a craps session when I decided it would be a good idea to throw $100 down on the pass line. My brother-in-law was the shooter and he was at the opposite end of the table. He couldn't see my bet from where he stood. He rolled a six and I took 5x odds for $500 behind (I think the Plaza lets you take 10x but I wasn't that brave!). I told my buddies near me that saw what was going on not to tell him what I had bet. I didn't want to make him nervous, as most of us are $5 bettors. He rolled a couple meaningless numbers and then someone had leaked the info about my bet. He looked down at me with eyes as big as saucers. I gave him a wink and a thumbs up. His next roll was a six! The whole table erupted as he rolled the point. That was a fun moment. We've called him Mr. Six ever since.

I don't know about my bet, but in 2006 I
was at Madalay Bay and six guys walked
up to an empty roulette table and bet $100
each on number 16. They were all from the
same company and 16 was an important
number to them for some reason. They
had just arrived and this was the first bet
of their trip. The floor supervisor examined
the bet and stood there as, you guessed it,
16 won! All 6 players won $3500 and they
went berzerk. Hugging and jumping high
5's and screaming and fists in the air. The
pit dude went immediately to the phone
and called whoever. He was very grim faced
and upset, they just lost 21K on one bet.

Jump ahead 90min. The idiots who won
gave almost all of it back. After the win,
they bet like maniacs, piling green chips
all over the board on every spin. As I recall
4 of them lost all of it and some of their
own BR, and 2 of them walked away with
a couple hundred. And boy, were they pissed
off. They were saying the game was fixed, the
casino was cheating, they were going to take
action in court, blah blah blah. Morons.

Most I've ever bet at once was $5,000 on a lucrative one round only promotion. I won. My partner actually split and doubled his hand so he had 15K up and lost. Counting the most I've ever had on the table in one round was 9K. Started out at 2x1,500 and split and doubled ending up with 9,000 on the table. Won some of them and lost some of them. Don't recall the exact amount though.

On a table game, once I was playing $50 DD BJ, split 6-6 to two hands of 6-3 against dealer 6. Doubled on both hands, got an A on both, dealer pulled 21. 200 on one hand.

Poker: One time I put $500 into a $750 pot on the RIVER with 9-high... yes 9-high... I knew one player missed and the other wasn't as strong as he was representing when he was betting. Showed the bluff on the end... Sometime I'll tell the whole story surrounding the hand, as it is one of my favorites.

I'm always amazed that players who are losing and seriously believe that the casino is cheating them keep playing anyway.

They not only keep playing they keep raising their bets. Steaming is quite common and the casinos love it.
