The guy in the video must be insane, but it's pretty entertaining. Where is this casino, and how is this possible? Do you know any crazy & unusual Blackjack rules at a casino in the states??

It's in Abu Dhabi. Apparently, they allow unlimited splits.

Most places I've seen that allow splitting of tens, it doesn't matter the rank, as long as it's a ten value card.

That was actually kind of amazing. Dealer flipped the 6 under and just thought to himself, "Surely, the next card has to be an 8 or 9....please God, please!!!!"

I thought that was going to happen the second that six was exposed.

Betcha if the dealer pulled a 21, the player would have blamed him, calling him the Worst Dealer Ever.

How does one get a double down when splitting 10's and not doubling 21? =)
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

All those people in the youtube comments calling that guy an idiot and hoping he would lose, because he wasn't playing "proper" blackjack.

It's just a game; the guy is obviously having a good time, so who gives a crap if he's not playing optimal strategy.

He's messing with the Sacred Flow Of The Cards. Bad things happen when someone does that, and usually not to that player.

interesting the dealer didn't pay him 1.5x immediately on blackjack.
he had at least 2 blackjacks on those splits

I thought on most games, bj after split was just a 21 that the dealer could possibly tie. Seems like that's what happens with split aces, anyway. Is that not how split tens work, too?
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

If you split either a pair of aces or tens and subsequently arrive at a hand that totals 21 it is not treated as a blackjack. Also, there are four different 10-value cards. I am not aware of any casino that does not allow you to split any combination of those cards, although I have had several break-in dealers question it when I've tried to do it in. But they've allowed it when I've mentioned that they're all 10-value cards. In casino slang two different types of 10-value cards is referred to as a "mixed marriage".

How many decks were they playing with? It seemed as if it was NOT dealt from a shoe.

I think that half of the decks must have been Pinochle decks.

(i) My local casino only allows splits of identical picture cards (I asked this question as I was looking into a BJ variant).
(ii) In some games, (eg Double Exposure) you might want to DD 21 after splitting pictures - again my local casino doesn't allow you to hit nor double once you've got 21.

I'd find another casino. If that's not possible, simply avoid the game.

Right at the end, when the camera swung to the dealer's hand, you could see what was at least a 6 deck shoe, might even have been 8. I didn't look beyond seeing the shoe, though.

The UK used to have strict rules (which actually protected the innocent but prevented plays such as soft doubles and splitting 4's) but after some de-regulation these have now all gone. Thus nearly all casinos allow re-split As, DDaS, double any 2 cards, s17. It also means that casinos can offer more than the basic range of games.

I had no intention of splitting 10s in basic BJ but there's a trial game around which means you do split them against dealer 15-16s, hence the question (as it affects HE quite a lot).
