it appears that the people who were all about the team are the ones that got smoked in the actual game. With 18 people that is only $11 a person. If everyone went low on each round that would have been what $9? Romes are you alloud to write what you received from who? I am guessing the people with the high amounts are going on their good ole way.

I suspect that Romes has inadvertently got some information that should have been private between Players and Wizard
Would anyone be so churlish as to still want to keep their bids secret?
By my reckoning there's $517 split between 38 players which makes $13.60 each. My take was $14 (AAUI)
One of the $25 big hitters has already pledged his/her winnings to charity so your average of $11 doesn't suggest you were smoked by the rats and weasels..
That 50c of Docs was because he was part of a two man team, by the way.

Well, based on 38 players (total for Round 8), the average win was $13.61, so we're not too far from that. Voting low for all 8 rounds netted you $8 since we lost one of the rounds.

I'm sure many are, but there are several on the parlay team who won more than the average.

As I have said before, I decided to be selfish and bid high in most rounds. I ended up with $23. I have pledged it to group effort. I'm not THAT selfish!!

I missed the first week, bid high on all but one round (to my credit, the round on which we won by one vote) and more than happily am part of Romes' parlay. This has been fun and hope I get to decide what to do with lots of winnings.

Somehow got a 50 cent partial transfer from Doc =P. Assume the rest went to the Wiz or Charity.

Nope, you got it all.

I made a long, boring post back here in the other thread, describing my strategy, picks, and the results. I also noted that for rounds 3 through 8 I was one of two members of a mini-team, and we split our winnings for those rounds. That split is how I wound up with a total that included the 50 cents. Details in the linked post. Total transparency, except for the identity of my teammate, who may or may not choose to acknowledge the role he played.

I'll let you know after the weekend if I'm in or not on the parlays. I refused to Vote one round because I seen ithe coming (the one we lost). I was fairly confident we would win the round where I big high. I bid low the rest of the time. Can I put half my winnings in and razz Mike and make some free prop bets for the 2nd half?

It's a shame OD didn't want to participate in the parlays because I really wanted to kick someone out of it. Perhaps he knew it was coming. Sneaky bastard.

I am pretty sure it is open to anyone as long as you meet/agree to the terms on the 1st post of this thread. I don't think anything said in the original thread (while the game was ongoing) is binding, as lying was part of the game. Besides, we already have some "non-pool committers" on the team.

Just WizPay your winnings to the Parlay Pool, and you're in!

Everyone is eligible to join (with one or two exceptions list on page one). It still very funny to me that people still can't grasp that this team and the one from the game are different, there is about a hundred pages explaining this simple point across three threads and counting. I would repost that same meme but babs will suspend me, but I would like to see DJ get blamed again...

Hope on board of your like to get in on the fun. All you need to do is PM wiz to send money to Romes and pm Romes expressing your desire.

I think much of the confusion came from the long string of posts about "the team" and how "we" needed to work together, collaborate, and win close to the optimum amount so that "we" could pool it on some additional wagers to get significant money for "hookers and blow." Later comments appeared to separate the two teams and their objectives, but I thought it best to confirm the openness of the current teaming arrangement before transferring my account to the pool. I appreciate your confirmation of that a few pages back, and it's unfortunate that the lingering confusion has led to the need to repeat the confirmation (several times now).

It's no big deal, I'm just playing around (still having fun with this). In your defense, I was really the ring leader separating the two "teams" from the beginning and it didn't become very clear until about half way through the original thread.

In the end all that matters is that we are on our way to a $300+ team parlay pool! Even though it won't be a huge amount for each of us, I'm looking forward to being able to say we AS A TEAM won $10,000 (hopfully thoughts). That will be a good day considering it came from nothing more than zero dollars and a whole bunch of forum posts.

If you're really asking... unfortunately no. This is an all or nothing with the ONLY exceptions being donating to Mike or the LV Charity through Mike (so you have to transfer all your funds). Otherwise you're gambling with our team money for your own personal gain which wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team. We all agreed that we all did equal work in the game and thus all winnings are to be equal for the team.

We've "mostly" settled on 1/2 point parlay as the bet(s). Definitely still taking thoughts/input/discussion if you have other/better ideas. Feel free to chime in. Otherwise the Wiz and I are going to look up some cards for week 3 (weekend of Oct 1st) and place the bets together in Vegas when I'm in town around that time.

Just to reiterate (since mrsuit answered this) yes. Just make sure you read all the rules on page 1 and then PM the Wiz to transfer ALL of your game winnings to the Parlay Pool (Romes) and you're in on the action!

I already submitted a request for half my profits to go towards the parlay pool and I'll be using the other half for a will she/he know prop bet with Mike. I think I'm good at that.

Can I put half my winnings in and razz Mike and make some free prop bets for the 2nd half?...

Yeah, I had seen that denial too, OD, and thought Axel had. Half share won't work, darling , as others also requested and were denied. I've seen you tuck more than that in a geriatric hooker's garter.

Beginning to think you were one of the liars and don't want to be found out through, what do they call it? Oh, yeaah, math.

Go polish off your bottle of JD and donk off your $25 or whatever it is online. I would think you of all people would understand

Seriously why it would matter? It's actually a good thing for everyone. I'm not asking for a full equity share of any winnings I'm just asking for the proper adjusted amount. I won't negatively impact anyone whatsoever. So I can't fathom why anyone would object. I won $9 mike sent $5.

IMO if there was someone who didn't participate, yet they wanted to Paypal romes money to join and get in on the action, I wouldn't see a problem with that, unless for some reason the amount got to high where it made it difficult to get the action in. I guess someone could claim it makes the accounting more difficult, however I would argue that's absurd since people here do math and accounting just for kicks.

At this point we're up to 19 team members with a total bankroll of $216.50!!! (hope I didn't screw all those additions up with my calculator =P)

We are 7 Members and $84 short of my projections...need 7 more of those $10-$14 winners to sign up.

Romes, what was the date/s you plan to be in vegas again?

We should place an end date in the next week or so to officially close the team enrollment. I figure a week before you go would be ideal so you and Mike have ample time to plan out your chosen wagers for us. Also, that will allow everyone plenty of time to see what the wagers/potential winnings will be etc...

I'd also say it's best to start a new thread title h&b team bet or something like that. That way it's much easier to find then posting on this thread and getting buried...

Cheers. Yes I will: Yes I do.
The Hookers and blow parlay venture is an oddball one with a rather relaxed attitude to equity. As I understand it, up to 38 guys can buy in with an ante of between $1 and $25 for the possibility of maybe a $50 share of the proceeds. Is that correct?

So how do you put a correct price on joining in? "It's what you took off Mike" seems to be the consensus. I suppose the justification is that those who bid low and won low deserve it for their earlier altruism

I'm on the outside looking in, so I have no opinion of how you guys organise. Really hope you guys do well with the parlay.

I look forward to having a silly little race with Romes and Mike to see if I can parlay my $14 up to the same as what they manage. Just a bit of fun. Front row seat for Axel if he wants to laugh as I fail.

<redacted>. I think a good "cut off" date to join would be next Wednesday, September 28th. We should have most/all of the people from the game thread that wish to participate already, but this gives them a bit more than another week even.

The plan is DEFINITELY to confer with Mike, and to lean towards his discretion when it comes to the 1/2 point parlays. I do intend on giving some solid input per the teams/games/etc picked though.

Perfect. I didn't need your exact dates, just enough to make the cut off date.

Sept 28th it is...

Ha, then edit your quote... Just for giggles =).

$257.50... I think we could make a few parlays with good odds of winning some good cash. Clearly after conferring with Mike we'll post the selections as well as bet tickets as proof.

Fine I took it out you shadeball.

Cool, like I said. I believe a new thread for the actual wagers and subsequent cheering posts would be the ideal way to go about it when the time comes. I'm sure some would appreciate a picture of the tickets when receive as well.
