I visit Biloxi casinos several times a year, and, as a "bottom-feeder" (low-amount bettor), I appreciate when casinos invite me to stay overnight for free. Golden Nugget has done this, and I am somewhat conflicted about whether or not I like their (standard, non-suite) hotel rooms. So, I'm interested in opinions of others who have stayed (and played) there. (OK to comment on play, food, staff, etc.)
When it was remodeled a few years ago by its new owner, Tilman Fertitta (owner of Landry's Restaurants), he took special pride in making each room a work of art. And, IMHO, he succeeded. However, I found it sometimes difficult to live in a work of art.
There are no towel racks (except on the glass tub-door (a separate room from where the sink is). So, there is no place for me to hang my dopp kit (with toothpaste, etc.) The bathroom sink is an artistic marvel. It stands as a large bowl set on top of the (somewhat small) counter top. A tall pipe comes up well above the bowl, makes a 90-degree turn to extend over the bowl, and another (artistic) turn downward for the water spout. But, that leaves scant room around the sink bowl for toothpaste, etc. The bowl makes it had to see what's where on the counter top. And, the faucet is a dangerous eye-poker-outer if you aren't careful. (Towels are folded and stacked in a small cabinet in the tub-toilet room.) So much for the sink statuary.
There is a coffee-maker (unlike the 1800-room Beau Rivage, which apparently has only one real coffee pot on the property!), but it is on the desk-dresser. Cords on these coffee makers are short, designed for counter tops. But, there is no counter top power outlet, so the cord goes down the same hole as the TV (and other) electric cords, where it just barely reaches. So, the coffee maker sits far back and immobile. Hard to reach to fill with water without spilling. Spilling water often results in it going down the hole, risking electric shorts with equipment and the network box. The 42-inch TV is larger than those in some of its competitors, but there is a problem because it is mounted flush on the wall. That's great if you are lying in bed. But, when I watch TV, I often sit at the desk, not directly in front of the TV, and about impossible to view.
Golden Nugget (in its previous incarnation as the Isle Casino) was always one of my favorites, but I don't enjoy trying to live in a work of art. I know your mileage may vary, and I welcome any (constructive) comments.

Easy answers: Try Scarlet Pearl or the new platinum tower at Hard Rock. All you need, you are so welcome!

Some have told me Pearl's rooms are small, but your mileage may vary. Last trip I spent time playing there, trying to get them to notice me. Most recent offer has no free room offer, so I'll soldier on, staying at other properties. May have to wait until the 2nd tower is finished before they will have room for bottom-feeders like myself.
As for Hard Rock, I have high hopes. They send me offers for free rooms, but they wait until the last minute. ("Looks like we won't fill these rooms, so offer one to that guy...") I get the offer on Thursday for the next Monday, and I already have my travel planned (if I'm planning to be in Biloxi at that time). Because I have a drive of several hours I have to plan my travel too far in advance for that short a notice. (I usually go for about a week, staying for free at 2 or 3 different properties for 2 or 3 nights at a time.) But, with Hard Rock's new tower (and unfilled rooms??) and (possible??) increased competition from other properties, I'm hopeful. I positively LUV playing at the Hard Rock and have enjoyed when I stayed in the past. I put in a lot of time at the Hard Rock during my last trip to Biloxi, and retrieved several Hard Rock offers of "2 free buffets," which allowed this solo traveler to find new friends. Hard Rock is very generous feeding me. Plus, they finally got their UTH table.
So, you don't find the Pearl rooms to be small? As good or better than Hard Rock?

Not to mention HR is much more interesting than most of the other places in general.

I have been twice, once had a corner, another time something smaller. These are nice rooms. Nice, and not small. Keurig coffee makers. 49"LCD. Walls of glass with remote control drapes on two sides. Great high end burnt orange smelling toiletries, think Venetian. Be there in two nights , can't wait!

Being right on the beach the Hard Rock platinum tower has the great view. Their rooms are wide, not deep, I estimate 18 feet of glass wall, including the loo! Top notch toiletries also, in a floral scent. I give the slight edge to the Pearl with The Beau's rooms now a distant third place. I have not stayed yet at GN since "Pile of Debris" days.

Speaking of "the pile", I had a friend ship me one of their old bedspreads, after the remodel, with the parrots and flowers. A blast from the past for my frigid Florida winters!

Hard rock new tower and the suites in the old tower are by far the best, if you can get in them....
Scarlett pearl other the being new is crap- their penthouse is terribly laid out and the tv is lower and on the floor from the bed.....
Amenities at that place are almost zero and the elevators are slow as can be. Other then a good promotion when they opened the place is just crap, and WHATEVER YOU DO stay away from the food..... Didn't even have a a gift shop at the time- However they may have opened one now .
They did have a good variety of video poker

I appreciate your opinions on the hotel but some of those are really nit picky. Especially for a low roller getting a free room. As a fellow low roller I am happy if it is mostly cleaned. That is where my standards are.

Right and some are happy with ramada inn , but in leaving a review I don't think too many would say they would stay there is they had their choice .
