Smile! You're in AC.
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

The sickest thing about that hand is that the quad eights are the third nuts and the quad sixes are the fourth nuts.

What were the first nuts and the second nuts???? Were they quad deuces and quad nines on the June 3's bad beat?

It's only 2 days apart, and the bad beat strikes again.

$50,000 were previously split among the other lucky 10 players on June 3. It only happens in BORGATA in which more baby-bad-beat-jackpots have popped up within a few days!

Hmm...I wonder why? Smart management, perhaps? More games...more players...more chances for players to strike the jackpots, perhaps?

I actually think it's the 4th and 5th nuts.
10 high straight flush being the nuts
9 high straight flush being 2nd
8 high straight flush being 3rd

Having either a 10 -high or 9-high straight flush is the nuts because no other hand can beat you. I would consider either to be the nuts.

Having a 5c4c in your hand and the 8-high SF is the 2nd nuts. It could finish 2nd in a showdown but could never finish third.

Here's more Odds N' Ends in AC... Welcome to Artemis' BELIEVE or NOT quick report...

In my opinion, Harrah's gets the worst bj games in AC.

During a weekday, I dropped in Harrah's to verify its notorious 6:5 bj games. Yes sir-eee Bob! Of the 9 regular bj tables open on the main casino floor, 4 bj tables are 6:5 games.

BJ Table#727 is a 6:5 single deck game. BJ Tables#722~724 are 6:5 monstrous 8-deck games.

The remaining 5 bj tables are 3:2 eight-deck-games.

Edit: Here are more additional 6:5 bj games. I scouted for more 3:2 bj tables, then I ran into 8 more 6:5 games. You will find them on tables#305 thru 312. So, Harrah's gets 14 tables of 6:5 bj games all together.

Gamblers are not too dumb at all. They know good games from bad ones. Perhaps that's one of many reasons why Borgata won $56, 169,934 from gamblers. On the other hand Harrah's only won $33,326,242. See the NJ-DGE's spreadsheet below for comparison.

Borgata opened their festival park last weekend. It was CRDA money they had to spend on something so I don't want to hear how innovative and progressive they are. They're whores just like all Casinos. They just pretend better then other Casino's.

Anyway, a friend went to concert and said that every so often a smell of manure would waft through the air. Everyone there noticed. I wonder if they built the park with shit as a foundation.

The landfill and sewer plants are nearby. Check out the signs on the White Horse (Rt 30). There is a lot more than the windmills along the channel. All that's really needed is the right direction for the breeze.

Here's more AC's Odds "N Ends: The sightings of "XYZ" and MasterHoudini some times ago...

I caught sight of "XYZ" and MasterHoudini. The counter catcher has welcomed "XYZ" to play bjs without any restriction. On the other hand, MasterHoundini was restricted and flat-betted.

The management is very sharp. A player (such as "XYZ") down on his lucky is allowed to lose more money without any restriction. On the other hand, a consistent winner (i.e., MasterHoudini) is restricted and flat-betted. Oh well... that's another episode for the facts of life in AC.

Umm maybe it's just me. I haven't had my morning coffee I'll admit. But are you talking in riddles or am I simply too old to understand your hipster references. Just wondering. If you are trying to say casinos sometimes let known counters lose, and flat bet ones on a streak...well duh. Happens all the time. That's not news. Sometimes they will watch for hours and swoop in with a banning the minute you are down. As you say just part of being a counter. Happens everywhere.

Now that is just plain mean. Catch a counter counting and winning, then watch till they're down a bit, then 86 them, then laugh about it with your buds! There aught to be a law, we needs us some more laws.
I really would support some sort of ruling that you can't be refused action, or even have your action limited to less than anyone else's if you're down. Just plain mean....now if they got you on tape cleaning out their vault previously, well now that's a whole different story ;-)

Vman, hipster references? riddles? Nope.

For most readers, my saying is not at all apparent because I don't want to say who "XYZ" is.

I just serve as another eye and ear for the readers here. I saw 2 black-chip-players and shared my observations.

Because "XYZ" is a cash cow, the card-counter-catcher welcomes him. Unfortunately since MasterHoudini is a cash pig in the eye of that casino, MasterHoudini is flat-betted and turned away by the card-counter-catcher.

Note: No insult is intended to call MasterHoundini a cash pig.
Some readers may have never heard of the term "cash pig", so a definition is in order.
The opposite of a cash cow is a cash pig. A cash pig drains cash.
Think of slot machines. The slots are cash cow to a casino, but a cash pig to slot-players.
Also a bad card counter is a cash cow to a casino, and a good card counter is a cash pig. Do you guys get my drift?

Here's more AC's Odds "N Ends:

Revel Casino's bankruptcy record is quickly broken by Baha Mar Casino.

Revel had been in business for almost 2.5 years. (from the opening date of April 2, 2012 through the closing date of September 2, 2014.) Then Revel filed for bankruptcy.

On the other hand, Baha Mar Casino files for bankrupcy before it opens!
The Chinese contractor is scapegoated for Baha Mar Casino's bankruptcy.

Here's more AC's Odds "N Ends: Happy 4th of July!

Up to 100,000 Guys in AC currently celebrates the America's 239th birthday in style.

Happy B'day, America!

Except for the distraction of an unidentified flying object in the sky between Trop and Caesars, spectators are taken aback by the firework display on the evening.

Also to celebrate the B'day, Bally's Wild Wild West casino opens up for business after months of renovation. It now offers all $5 bj games. All 8 tables are 8-deck 6:5 bj games. You can't miss them, which are in talbes# 904, 906~908, and 923~928.

Here's more AC's Odds "N Ends: I accidentally found the best deal in town for breakfast.

For 3 bucks, this fast food Restaurant (ex-Roy Rogers) gives you:

1) a cup of coffee,
2) 2 eggs,
3) 2 pieces of toasts,
4) home fries, and
5) free parking.

Can you guess the name of that restaurant?

Update:
6) Free Wi-Fi. The password is: 6093471800

No. You are thinking of the defunct-Burger King Restaurant, which has no free parking.

So the Guess-The-Restaurant-Quiz continues...

Here's more AC's Odds 'N Ends: It's a small small small world after all...

I caught sight of another WOV's member ("ABC") at this game (see photo below). My sources say that a few members are currently in AC, so I've kept an eye out for them. Bingo! I saw at least one of them. Hmm... who can that guy be?

Here's more AC's Odds 'N Ends: Security guards of Casino#3 trespassed a "guest" during a-persona-non-grata-sweep.

4 security guards stopped a guest. A supervisor checked the guest's driver license. She copied info from the license, then she told him not to return to the casino, or else she would have him arrested next time.

Then they continued to do the sweep. The supervisor demanded to see a Black guy's driver license. The Black guy refused and just walked away from the security guards. They just let him go.

The moral of the story is that...you don't need to show your driver license to AC security guards.

I had breakfast over the weekend. It was fine and worth the $3.21. The restaurant is located on Atlantic Ave, near Bass Pro Shops.

Then I went to Bally's to play Free Bet Blackjack. The dealer was relief from regular 21+3 blackjack. I pushed a hand when she got 22. She was about to cut out four green chips. I corrected her. She put the chips back in the tray and just shrugged.

Five hands later, she did it again. I had 2 free splits and a free double on one box. She paid me $400 in greens and took the gold lammers back. I shrugged and headed for the cashier.

Congrats on your $400 windfall gain. With that kind of windfall profit, you will be able to enjoy your breakfasts for 124 days at the courtesy of Bally's.

Coincidentally & ironically, is it a karmic retribution? On the one hand, AC casinos lock up and confiscate skilled-players' comp dollars, i.e., in the cases of Lemieux66 & Master Houdini. On the other hand, their dealers have given away chips, i.e., in the case of Mr. chaunceyb3.

Here's more AC's Odds "N Ends: Free drinks from a soda fountain!

Just for 1 day, I leave AC for greener pastures in other casinos. Most bj games are wongable just like AC.casinos'. I get almost nothing special to write about, except for the free soda fountain.

This casino sets up a soda fountain (see photo below) across from the roulette table#203. You don't have to wait for a cocktail waitress anymore for your drinks. You can get yourself a cup of free soda from the fountain.

Shhhh, don't tell anybody about my strategy... Whenever too many monkeys come out of the shoe, I get extra thirty :-) I skip the shoe , and I pour myself a drink from the fountain.

The New Jersey Turnpike is closed in both directions due to a dump truck roll over and fire in Linden. Hope none of you are stuck. It looks like one big mess.

Timing is everything. I'm not in Jersey Turnpike today, but I was in the Pike yesterday. It's a bad day for Jersey drivers who have lost hours of driving time and a fellow driver by the omenious Exit#13. May the Almighty rest his soul in peace.

This casino's native dealers are nicknamed "Blue Hen's Chickens".

Here's more AC's Odds 'N Ends: Mr. Nixon's recommendation of Mike's Seafood & Dock Restaurant.

Circa 3pm, Mr. Nixon's good deeds caught my attention. I struck up an interesting conversation with him. Even in his day off, Mr. Nixon walked up and down the Boardwalk to pray and help the older veterans in wheelchairs.

I asked him what's he going to do after he's finished for the day. He said he would go to Mike's Seafood & Dock Restaurant for some dinner.

Later I google and find more info on Mike's. I like what I saw. The restaurant offers $15.95 lobster special dinner. I'm sold! @dinner, I took some photos to share with you guys.

Do give Mike's a try if you guys are tired of the same old dinners in AC.

Here's more AC's Odds 'N Ends: Here's info for you guys who want to see Pope Francis in Philly from AC:

1) Pope's schedule

2) The best way to get there from AC is to take an express train from AC to Philly.

The round-trip ticket for that day is $30. Starting today, you can buy 1 of 4,000 express tickets in advance @ the AC train station.

Here's my train ticket to see the Pope.

Here's more AC's Odds 'N Ends:
The sighting of "Pauley, the Guy" - a lucky charm who turned a $500 loan into $11,000 in winnings.

Location: Casino#2

8-deck-BJ table#7

Dealer: Binh

Table min: $15 Table Max:$2,500.

Running counts: negative all the way.

As I was scouting for a profitable shoe, I saw "Pauley" playing at table#7. He lost his last bet. He borrowed $500 from his pardner. As luck would have it, Pauley got good cards, and Binh started to dump.

Pauley bet a stack of greens. He got blackjacks 2 in the row.

He bet blacks. He doubled down, and Binh broke.

He bet a stack of blacks. He splitted up to 4 hands, and Binh broke.

For the rest of the shoe, He usually beat Binh by 1 point, i.e., his 20's over Binh's 19, etc...

Near the end of the shoe, Pauley lost 2 big bets, and he cashed out and walked away with 11 oranges and a purple chip. He left Binh $500 tips.

What a happy ending it turned out to be for "Pauley, the Guy."

Define Playing Conditions
...if the dealer hits or stands on soft 17 (A-6) is very important! Enjoy this information provided by the Wizard on his main blackjack page at WoO (note this is in comparison to the benchmark rules 8D, S17, DAS):

How true Mr. Romes' warning (of the soft 17) is!

I just lose $300 because the dealer hits on soft 17. She pulls a 4 on top of her 6 and ace. Her soft 21 beats my 2 monkeys.

How does no dealer hole card end up creating a negative impact to the player?

Isn't the hole card in the deck the same as if it had already been dealt to the dealer hand?

With the "European no hole card rule" if the dealer gets blackjack, the players without blackjack lose not only their original bets but any additional double down and split bets. So, the house edge is higher because the players should split and double less vs the dealer's ten or ace.

Thanks ChesterDog. Yeah, taking the extra action bets on a dealer BJ would be detrimental to the player.
Thanks for the explanation.

This is a bj dealer's honest question that requires some honest answers: "How come I can't be lucky and pull 20s and 21s frequently when I play blackjack for myself?"

After work, a pretty Borg dealer went to Trop to play BJ. She got beat up by Dealer "Jose" & lost all her money ($1,000).

She told "Jose": "I've always been a strong bj dealer for Borg." Then she asked "Jose": "How come I can't be lucky and pull 20s and 21s frequently when I play blackjack for myself?"

"Jose" replied: "I don't know why. I'm a strong dealer too, but I got beat up too when I played BJ in Borg. They are the way they are, & that is the way it is."

Well at least "Jose" is honest about something he doesn't know why. What about you guys? Do you guys know why she does really well for the house, but she can't do well for herself when playing bj on her own? Is it because the casino has at least 10% house-edge in holding/winning? Or is it because she plays scare with only an $1,000 buy in?

The player must act first. That's the house advantage. If the player breaks, the house gets his money. If the dealer then breaks the house still has the player's money. No refunds. :-)
