What is your favorite place for a quick bite in Atlantic City?

For me, by far it is TONY BALONY'S pizza at 300 Oriental. The pizza combinations he makes are bizzare but for some reason they work.

Think a Ruben sandwich on pizza or General Tso Chicken. It may be ctazy but it is good.

If you're irrationally cheap, like me when it comes to spending non-comp $ on food in AC,( only bring fixed amt of cash-conserve every possible $ for my gambling bankroll), The $1 hot dog at Gold Tooth Gerties (if still open) is actually pretty good. Sometimes if I'm up , I'll splurge & buy 2!

Hard to believe but several times I've won my money back on my last 20$ bill.

I convince myself that if I spent that $20 on food- that wouldn't have happened.

We have quite a few favorites. We got sandwiches delivered from Tony's once, and they were good. We like whitehouse, but tony's was better. Probably our favorite quick stop is Johnny Rockets. Good burger and fries and the price isn't bad.

We gamblers are a funny lot. We think nothing of putting a Benjamin in a machine but, I swear it goes again my grain to pay $2.00 for 3 cucumbers in the market. I too do not like spending my bankroll on food, especially since I came from a time of discretionary comps where I never had to pay for a meal anywhere during a stay. (I usually earn enough comps during my stay to eat for free at the casino where I'm staying) If I do pay for a meal it's usually a happy hour where it's a good deal or we make reservations at Carmines where I charge it.

I was hungry on my last trip to Vegas and where did I go, to Casino Royale for their foot long. It was delish, hit the spot and I only spent $1.99 Lunch done.

The thing that annoys the hell out of me about Tony Baloney's (well one of the things) is that they advertise that they have New Jersey pizza - which they desrcribe as piled high and messy. Nothing about that sounds like an NJ slice to me. A good slice of NJ pizza is the same as a good slice of NY pizza - crusty dough and simple ingredients on top. Their food is OK, nothing special, but I'll admit their cheesesteak looked good but I didn't try it.

(Also it's not really cheap, just cheaper than some of the other options. 10 dollars for a cheesesteak IIRC.)

Here are/were my favorite shops which have fed me well for years 24/7 :

1)

2)

I don't want to tell you where they are because I would rather not create competition against myself (i.e., too many customers will create long long lines).
I'm OK with Corps which pick and choose clienteles. Both insurance companies and casinos have the right to pick and choose customers. They may keep profitable ones and kicked out the rest. But, I'm not OK with a casino supervisor who says counting cards... is like stealing food from a buffet (a foodlifting offense), or video-taping a movie in a cinema (a piracy offense).

There shouldn't be any lines at the Earl Of Sandwich unless there's another one that I don't know about.

Last summer we ate at earl of sandwich while staying in showboat. We ended up eating there 4 times over 5 days. It was really good. Is there another in AC? I don't think the one in showboat has water or power.

I give The Irish Pub high marks. It's quick if you want it to be or it can be leisurely. The choice is yours.

I read somewhere that they are putting an Earl of Sandwich in Harrahs.

In additon to the "Kelly's Irish Pub", there is one more choice...the "Sister Jean's Food Court".

It's near the Taj and has the longest line out the door. It's very popular for gamblers who are completely out of luck and penniless. This could be my favorite if I went completely broke in AC:-)

An update...

There is another choice... Adelaide Center, AKA "Sister Patty's Snacks & Café for lady's only" Hours: M~F 9am~4pm, 2416 Arctic Ave (near Trump Plaza), Atlantic City, NJ. It's a haven for women in need, especially for ex-casino-workers of the shuttered casinos.

So... if a down-on-her-luck-lady begs you for cash for food , just say no thanks. Then tell her to walk to Sister Patty's for free Snacks & Café.

For me it's Tony's Baltimore Grill. I've been eating there for over 50 years. The pizza may take several minutes but the rest of the menu comes out quick. Most of the time though I wait for the pizza.

I have eaten several times at Duck town Tavern. Some of the best bar food I have ever had and free parking.
Also love Bill's Gyro.
Duck town is behind boardwalk hall on Atlantic Ave open 24 hours

I love Ducktown with 3 Happy Hours a day including over lunch with 1/2 priced Apps. Also Tony's Baltimore is good with a style of Pizza that is not like what you get in PA & NY.

I also like Tony Baloney's. My first visit their was at night. I didn't even stop. Just way to many people just milling about out front.
I had heard a while back that Baltimore Grill has new owners. Good place that has an early 1970's feel to it.
Irish Pub is also good with inexpensive food. Across the street is Pic-A-Lilli Pub. Cold cheap beer.
